We're leaving for Disney in 8 weeks, have two villas, both for cash. We don't have points left. One villa we were able to take advantage of the 20% discount for being a dvc member the other we were not. Being a DVC member we should get the discount all the time! :) Is there any chance they will open up rooms for the discount ,should I keep calling? Also, Do they open more rooms up for cash 31 days before?

I don't know what the plan is but it can't hurt certainly to keep calling. Have you checked out the general public discounts or AP discounts. Sometimes, those are better than the DVC one.

Good luck!

The discount is not all the time nor should it be. However, when they offer it, they will go back and give you the discount on already booked rooms if you ask them to. If you have the same days and units types/locations, you should be able to get the discount. I'd call and ask but if you're 8 weeks out likely no reason to keep calling.

I did check thru MS and there are no promotions at the time. Is it true DVC never offers 25% cash discount on 2 Bedroom villas?

DVC offers 25% discount or nothing. From your OP, I assumed you had cash rooms booked through DVC, if not, you should call them as a member and see if they have what you need.

Dean, you have it right. I have a one bedroom villa booked for cash, with a discount, thru dvc. We have a two bedroom villa booked for cash, without a discount, thru dvc. I didn't know if I called back weekly if a cash discount would be offered for the two bedroom villa or don't they ever off a cash discount for the two bedroom villas?

Did you call and ask if there was a discount applicable on the unit you have booked currently without a discount. There doesn't have to be a unit currently available to get the discount. Since you have a 1 BR on discount, it's like they have offered the 2 BR also. Call and ask if you can get the discount on the 2 BR as well rather than if they have a new room for a discount.

At the time I booked my reservations we really wanted 2 - two bedroom villa's at the Beach Club. When I called they didn't have 2 - two bedroom villas so we decided to book a 1 bedroom villa (with discount) & a 2 bedroom villa (without discount). I called today and they did have another 2 bedroom villa available for the dates we wanted so I cancelled the 1 bedroom villa and now have no discounts on either. :( I will call back time to time and see if any dvc discounts open up. Thanks for the replies.

Do you have annual passes? If so, have you tried to book those rooms with an AP discount through CRO?

What is the AP discount for Villas?

Plus we have reservations thru DVC would they be able to apply the AP discount to our room reservation already?

The Annual Pass discount, if available, varies. It if often better, sometimes much better, than the DVC member discount. But, no, you can not transfer the reservation from Member Services to CRO, nor will Member Services apply an AP discount. They are different room inventories.

If an AP discount is available, you'd also have to figure in any $ you may lose because of canceling the Member Services reservation.

Definitely check for annual pass discounts, they have been very good lately. You can check availability online at the Passholders section of disneyworld. com if you have current passes.

If not you will have call the DRC and purchase an annual pass before check in.

I believe cash reservations through member services can be cancelled up to 6 days prior for a refund of the 1 night deposit.

Beach Club is probably the hardest to get a discount, it's a small resort.

Thank you all for the information! I called today & they told me there are no rooms available for the AP discount. I keep in touch with MS to see if any discounts become available. Thanks again!

If you book through Disney Reservation Center and get the AP discount, you are not eligible for pool hopping or free internet for that stay. You have to be staying on a DVC reservation through MS to get those benefits.

Plus you cannot link a DRC reservation with a MS reservation, so you might have to move if you have both.
