Cash room -vs-pts

I goofed!!! I thought the 7mos window for Nov was May, nope, it was April. In any case, I frantically called today to schedule our Nov trip at BC. Needless to say the whole week was not available. We are waitlisted 3 nights. I did not even think to check member cash availability. Is there a chance they would have member cash avail if there is not point avail rooms?
What are the chances of WL coming through? F&W is over when we are waitlisted. I am so bummed that I goofed

Since VWL is smaller than BCV, I think a vacancy in Nov would not be easy to get. Especially if you didn't get on the wait list as soon as possible.

They may have cash nights available, but not points nights. And no discounted cash nights. Those usually come out of points inventory.

I feel your pain. I would have booked before the 7 mo window for our home resorts IF my DH had made any kind of peep at all about wanting to go to WDW for T-Day. We were about to buy airfare this week to visit his parents in CA. Then he got an announcement Thursday about our alma mater being added to the Old Spice Tournament at WDW. So he ditched his parents.

When I called to see what was available last Friday, Thursday was already gone. When I called back two hours later after checking with my DH....most everything was gone. I did manage to get a 2BR at OKW for 7 nights around T-Day and I'm waitlisted for 11/16 and 11/27. I took the longer period because I don't yet know what we'll end up with for air.

The point of this note is.........I did ask for cash rooms at OKW and there were none. Same thing happened to us in 2006 (although we decided on that trip in August). So that year I made a reservation for our last 3 days at the Yacht Club on cash and they upgraded us to the Concierge level which was fantastic and well worth the move. But on Friday she might have only looked at the DVC discounted rooms. I didn't push too hard because I wasn't ready for plan B yet.

I'm calling back this week to find rooms on a cash basis somewhere as a backup in case the waitlist doesn't come through. Best of luck.
