Cash Reservations at DVC Resorts ...

Is this correct? I really hope so. I had called to find out if there are any discount cash rates recently and was told nothing at the moment. So they suggested booking the rack rate. When I asked if the discount becomes available, will they automatically apply it to my reservation, the answer was a flat "no". She said that I would have to call over and over again until I get a cash discount.

I hope you are correct and I was just misinformed by MS. Has anyone else had their cash (rack rate) reservations booked through MS automatically changed to the discounted rate without having to call them back to check?

This thread is old, bumped up from 6 months ago. The information may very well be outdated, so you probably want to go with whatever information MS provided you currently. You can try calling again to see if another CM provides a different answer. Good luck.
