Cash for DVC reservation

I apologize in advance if this has been asked - search isn't working for me.

I am considering making a cash reservation for a couple days and have a few questions. I know that the discount for members is 25% and good only at DVC resorts. I assume this is booked through member services.

Would I be eligible for the dining plan for those days even if I don't buy tickets?

Is this the same inventory available through CRO? The reason I am asking is the dates I want are booked if I were to pay with points, but there is availability otherwise. Hope I'm making some sense here...

The member's discount generally comes from member's inventory and is NOT always available. The dining plan may be added for cash stays reserved thru MS.

Even if the discount is not available when you first call and ask, I'd suggest booking thru MS - if the discount later opens up, they will usually apply it to your reservation automatically.

The first priority for reservations thru MS is for stays using points. At times when past history or present booking status suggests that certain dates won't likely be reserved using points, they will make those available with the 25% discount to members. Weekends are often available with the discount.

CRO inventory is separate from DVC inventory. That's why often you'll see availability through one but not the other, or vice-versa.
