cash discount staying onsite

Just found out that I'll be heading to a DtD hotel for a convention in May. That hotel in particular does not have any rooms available. I'd like to stay at an onsite hotel- many of which are more expensive then my corporate expensing guidelines allow. I remember hearing that you can use your DVC membership number to get a discount at Disney hotels. Is that true- if so, what is the discount?

Bummer to have to go WDW for a trade show. I suppose I can bear it.

The DVC discount is 25% at DVC resorts only, booked through Member Services, based upon availability. If you have an AP, you may be able to get an AP discount at regular WDW resorts.
