cash discount on non DVC resorts?

This is probably in my printed info but board members have real life experience with such things so I'm asking this through the board. I e-mailed MS to ask about availability for non DVC resorts for reservation using DVC member cash discount. Apparently, MS doesn't service this. One just calls the non DVC resort directly and asks for reservation with DVC member discount applied. Is that right?

There is no DVC cash discount for any rooms except those at a DVC resort.

MS can make non-DVC WDW resort reservations with points for DVC members, but not cash reservations and as drusba pointed out- there are no DVC cash discounts on non-DVC resorts. Even the discount on DVC resorts is very limited in it's availability.
