was reading a post from someone who just eaten there. Of Cource I started to water at the mouth thinking about eating one. Does anyone know what brand they are. perhaps I can pick a pack up. Not the same as at Casey's, but I guess it will do till we go to WDW in Sept! :hyper:

It's an all beef hot dog, I'm not sure if it's kosher. I think I read somewhere that the hot dogs at Casey's are made/blended just for them, but I'm not 100% sure. We ate there about a month ago and they were very tasty.

I thought I read somewhere that they are Hebrew National. Over the summer we bought some Hewbrew National in hopes they were like Casey's and they were super darn close! Excellent on the grill!

Edit: Okay, i did some research and found a thread that said Disney says they are Hormel Black Label

We tried Casey's for the first time in December. I thought they tasted like the average hot dog. I don't know what the big deal is about them. Getting them from the steam carts were much tastier.

 I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that! ;) lol

Casey's hot dogs are by far the tastiest DH and I have ever had. :goodvibes Now, I'm not much of an expert on the subject but DH reeeeeally loved his hot dogs. Example: whilst on holiday in Sweden he made me drive 45 minutes to a particular hot dog place because he "had a craving"! Men... :duck:

I can't compare the hot dogs in the US to those where you have gotten them from. From my standpoint I think Casey's taste average compared to others in the US. We were sorely disappointed after hearing alll the brouhaha about them.

My husband loves Casey's too. I've had a taste of one and it sure doesn't taste like an all beef dog to me.

Oh, I know you were kidding! LOL! Believe me. I'm not that serious about hot dogs!

As far as my opinon goes, a dogs a dog. Now burgers on the other hand, there can be differences. IE BK, Wendys etc VS Fridays/ Chillis etc... Big difference IMO :scratchin

Have to disagree with this. A good quality all beef hot dog has so much more flavor than a typical hot dog. And the bun has to be properly steamed. Casey's does this very well. Toppings can make such a difference as well.

If you are ever in Chicago, try a hot dog and you will see what I mean. Even the ones at the airports are good. ;)

Also being from the Chicago area, I would have to say that Casey's dogs pale in comparison to a Chicago dog, any variety. Casey's were very, very greasy - not a taste I want in a hot dog. :crazy2:

I know that hubby is going to want to stop at Casey's. He loves hot dogs. I'll have to let you know what he thinks after we get back.

We were watching a special on Food Network a few weeks back that was talking about Chicago area hot dogs. He now wants to plan a trip. Of course it helps that we're baseball fans so we wouldn't go just for the dogs.

I hate hot dogs but after being kind of forced to eat here on a trip once (poor planning on our part), I was actually going to just eat the fries but DH made me take a bite and I was surprised. I made in go and stand in line for one for me!! Now, I won't go out of my way to eat one but in a pinch, I'll take Casey's anyday.

Maybe being at Disney just makes everything better... :scratchin

No wonder DH keeps talking about a trip to Chicago. He wants some hotdogs. :rotfl2:

I agree EVERYTHING tastes better at WDW!!

To me a hot dog is a hot dog. I'm not a picky eater.

We tried some on our last trip to get away from the crowds exiting. I loved the bleacher seating in the back and the TV with the Disney short clips. CUTE! Great memories! ::yes::
