I think she can continue to say she lied on her timecard. That doesn't look good either or lend to her credibility on this search thing.

Ewwwww, I hope they do not sniff the cans!! If the can don't stink, she's outta the clink!

I don't like the idea of opening the can, what if something happened to a seal or something and it doesn't smell anymore?? They have witness after witness stating it was decomposition. I would not risk this.

I don't like this too in case for some crazy reason there is a mistrial and she needs to be tried again.

How many people know what human decomposition smells like??? The jury are not experts in that area, it would prove nothing for them to smell that can.

Yea, how come the state didn't ask more about Cindy's medication and how it "helped" her memory. And why is she taking medication?

She is taking anti depression and anxiety medications and I can understand why.

I don't care if she's conflicted. I don't care if she's struggling. I don't care if she's hurting.

None of her hurt or struggle compares to that of Caylee.

At some point, you have to draw a line in the sand and either stand on the side of right or wrong.

Cindy has made her choice, and she is wrong.

How far would I go? Not where Cindy has gone.

Nothing excuses Cindy's actions. You don't get to say, "I was just trying to save my murdering daughter because I didn't want her to die for killing the granddaughter I love." The granddaughter she claims she loved more than anything. Her actions don't show she loved Caylee at all.

I hope Cindy rots with her daughter.

I completely agree with you.

Casey was an adult and made a conscience decision to do what she did. There are consequences for a persons actions.

Caylee was an innocent 2 year old. She had no chance, she didn't put duct tape in her mouth, bag herself up and hurl herself into trash dump site. Casey her Mom did that, the person that was supposed to love and protect her from harm.

Cindy should have wanted justice for CAYLEE. Caylee is the victim. Caylee just wanted to love and be loved. There is NO way I would lie for my son if he did this to my granddaughter.

Casey made a choice, now she needs to deal with the outcome.

Thats the point... would have to say everyone knows what trash/garbage smells like and does this smell resemble rotting garbage or something they've never smelled before.

I worry about the can too. But I would hope that the jury is smart about this even if it doesn't smell. Everybody, including the defense witnesses, have stated they smelled human decomposition.

And this is only in case the jury asks to smell the cans. They may have heard enough evidence to reach a verdict without the smell test.

The fact that Casey doesn't have that "no greater bond" as you describe negates your argument.

What kind of person testifies 'n perjures themself in a court of law about the murder of a child?

I also stated that apparently Casey is too coldhearted to have that bond with Caylee. I'm not talking about that anyway. I'm talking about Cindy and Casey's bond. Obviously Cindy loves Casey very much and doesn't want to see her in the position she's in regardless of what happened. I would never want to see my child on trial with the death penalty as possible punishment. Would you?

I in no way condone the fact that Cindy Anthony got up on the stand and lied, and I have no doubt that this kind of behavior made Casey the way she is, but let me just say that I would not want to walk in her shoes for one second. I mean can you just imagine the hell she is going through? As if it wasn't enouh to lose her granddaughter (which is a fact that cannot be changed) but now her daughter is on trial for the first degree murder of her granddaughter. She has to be terribly conflicted. Being a mother myself I know the kind of love a mother has for her child. There is no greater bond than that of a mother and a child (apparently, Casey is too coldhearted to have that bond with Caylee) and our first instinct is to protect our children under any circumstances, and if she thought she could help her daughter in any way, she would do it. I guess my question is how far would any of us go if we were in the same situation?
I don't know what I'd do as the mother of a murderer...I'd like to think I'd tell the truth...but who knows, and I hope to never find out.

Having said that, LEGALLY being the mother of the murderer should not be an excuse for perjury in a court of law.

I don't think they should smell the can. Unless they've smelled decomposition before, what are they determining? I think at this point it's been well established it was the smell of decomposition.

Being a mother does not stop you from loving your child even for a child who has commited a crime. However you dont lie for them, otherwise your letting them know they can continue their habit of lying. You need to tell the truth regaurdless. It may make the child mad but you are the parent not their friend. I think Cindy loves her but she should have not lied and think that they would not check this? She may think like Casey they wont check and I will get away with it.

If I were Cindy, I'd calmly walk out of the courtroom, out the front door of the building, grab a cab to the airport and get lost in Mexico somewhere.

No, I wouldn't, but the argument that there is no greater bond than that of a mother 'n child isn't valid, women kill their kids all the time.

No sniffing the cans cause the Juror can't be cross examined

That went right over my head :confused3

Exactly! They would need to have them smell human decomp and then smell the can and compare the two. And, does all human decomp smell the same? Does it matter if one body has been decomposing longer than another? Does a child's decomp smell different than an adult's decomp? Are they able to capture decomp from so many years ago in one can to compare?

Glad that JBP said no on that one.
