Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY & Sentencing Thread 6

That's where I have a serious issue w/ the jury's verdict.

Two year old in mother's care and custody.

Mother hides child is missing for 31 days. (Not to mention mother's documented conduct & activities during these 31 days.)

Disappearance doesn't come to the attention of authorities through mother's contacting them.

Mother cannot truthfully explain absence of child, lies repeatedly to authorities investigating.

Child is eventually discovered months later, close to home, exactly as mother stated she was. Remains of child are so badly decomposed cause of death cannot be determined.

Logically there is no other scenario to explain this excepting mother's responsibility & complicit involvement. Personally I never hoped she'd get the death penalty, just because of the increased amount of appeals & such she benefited from, not to mention how much was wasted on her defense just because of the possible attachment of the death penalty in this case.

For me the facts & evidence more than rise above the level of reasonable doubt by any definition.

Exactly. Yet there are people saying there wasn't enough evidence to convict her. A truly guilty person walks :guilty:

Kurby, with all the commotion yesterday, I missed if you had a Nicole update! How is she doing?

She's got to carry her garbage for the rest of her life. Even if eventually she is able to live in a manner where people don't remember or realize who she is, it's always with her.

That good, I think he did a WONDERFUL job, I really think the jury are the ones who messed up or didn't understand or just didn't care and wanted to go home

I just listened to that Alternate Juror interviewed. Russell Something . . .

He is very inarticulate, surprising that he is a teacher. There are some fishy things in what he said and what he focused on.

"We had plenty of reasonable doubt." Odd that. How does he know what the jury thought? Did they perhaps not heed the judge's admonition not to discuss the case among themselves before deliberation?

"[From the opening statement] we thought it was a horrible accident covered up." Didn't you hear the judge tell you that opening statements are not evidence?

"The state did not provide a good enough motive." The judge told you that the state does not have to provide a motive.

The River Cruz testimony of the accident that snowballed stuck in his head and he thought that Casey's history of lying for years somehow explains her lying to LE because it was her norm.

Oh well.
:sad2:

she's doing so well

we didn't go until the 9pm feeding. we figured we would spend the days with cassie and the evening with nicole when cassie went to bed.

she fed for over 30 minutes (a great little feeder) and she was off the cpac until 2am for a total of 5 full hours.

the ultrasound results came back and were fine. no more fluid. heart is perfect, eyes are perfect, spleen has a tiny... what she called a skin tag on it shich she said is no problem but i know if it's like a normal skin tag it will grow so i'll ask again if it should be removed. but other then that she's perfect.

Finally, a voice of reason. "Remember, there was no DNA, no fingerprints, and no logical motive to explain why a loving, doting mother could suddenly decide to kill her child using a savage method that was bizarre and brutal: suffocation with duct tape. The jurors didn't buy it and now Casey Anthony is about to walk free."-Geraldo Rivera

And there's no logical reason why a loving doting mother would show NO EMOTION WHATSOEVER, from minutes or hours after the "accidental death", or ever. Geraldo is a skank. But he knows about "loving relationships"...how many times has he been married?
My local Orlando radio station irritated me today. They feel Casey shouldn't leave Orlando (or Florida) for that matter. They said that she will be a free woman, leave her alone and let her rebuild her life. She did her time and should be allowed to be a "normal person" again.

They've lost a listener.
She wasn't normal before; why would she change now??
By the way, Ashton will be on Tru tv today at 2PM EASTERN.
Thanks. I'll watch. Before the verdict, I was thinking how much I was going to miss the prosecution and Judge Perry, but they'll always be a reminder of this case. But, I will watch today.
The jury did what they felt was right. I doubt, other than this particular, alternate we will hear what made their minds up. I honestly believe they will stay as anonymous as possible. While I would love to know what exactly was missing for them, I don't think we will hear much of that.
I think eventually someone will go on a show, in shadow. The media wants to get the story, so they'll accommodate jurors' requests for anonymity. I think that alternate went on the news thinking HE'S not one of the people who found her not guilty, so he feels no responsibility, so he can "safely" be out there. But I definitely felt that some of those jurors really wanted to be on the jury, thinking there would be a certain amount of fame and opportunities afterward, and now they're finding it not so easy.
My husband follows TMZ daily  and according to their website VIVID entertainment has already contacted Baez for a XXX contract for Casey :scared1:
Casey's probably thinking "Me?? They want ME??!! :yay:" And Baez would fit in quite well with that environment. :cool2:
You have to be faster than that!

She's got to carry her garbage for the rest of her life. Even if eventually she is able to live in a manner where people don't remember or realize who she is, it's always with her.

Yes but she is truly a psychopath. She has no remorse. She is probably happier than she's ever been. Sick, sick, sick.

I heard him as well and couldn't believe the "horrible accident that snowballed out of control" remark. They really believed River Cruz - and di NOT believe George. Amazing.

Good points.

The taxpayers of the state of Florida paid for her defense. As one of those taxpayers, I'm pretty sick about that this morning.

See the post by joviroxx below.

So, since she claims this was an accident and she knew this since June 16th and she didn't come forth with this info, you think we, the citizens of Florida can sue her to recover our money for having had to house her in jail for 3 years, pay for her attorneys and other expenses? I mean we could have saved ourselves a lot of money and time if she would have said the truth, her truth, but at least something!

I still think something needs to be done about this. We have spent so much money and manpower on this case when it was supposedly nothing more than a simple drowning. There has to be a way to bring a lawsuit against her for wasting our tax dollars.

That's very funny. It took me a minute, thinking it was loading or something. LOL

Wow. I think I was too upset yesterday to really hear what he had to say. Excellent points.

Kurby, that's wonderful news. I can't wait until she goes home!!! Tomorrow I should find out what my grandchild is! Then I'm going to run out and buy baby clothes. :teeth:

It just irked me to hear some commentators talking about how credible River Cruz was after she testified. :confused3:confused3:confused3

Just watching the Today show -- the legal ladies said that the alternate juror's interview indicated that he thought she was not guilty - not just because the prosecutors failed to convince him, but that he actually thought she was innocent. I thought the same thing as I was listening to the interview. :sad2:

I agree. That made no sense to me at all. From what I heard from her, she came across as completely non-credible.

best part of being the grandma lol spoil the child

As it says in her diary, KC is the happiest she has ever been.
She made her decision and hoped it would all work out.

It did.

How maddening is that?

I know the system functioned. I should respect the jury.
Right now, as far as I am concerned it did not and I can not.

In a way, I think the high profile nature of this case is what set her free. Unlike other cases that have been tried here dealing with the death or abuse of a child, this case took six weeks. Most of the other cases are settled in less than a week. So many experts were brought in to testify that the jury was overwhelmed with varying opinions. In the other cases, very few expert witnesses testify.

In those other cases, there are quick, slam-dunk presentations by the state. Right or wrong, the defense doesn't put much effort into their cases because, normally, there is no money behind the defendants and there is no media coverage. Most of the time, the defendants in these cases are found guilty.

This case was so huge that way too much circumstantial evidence was thrown at the jury and, whether it should or not, having the jury sequestered for so long does play a part in how quickly they want to get things over and done. Also, playing up the death penalty part of the case probably had a large impact on the jury.

If this case had not been so high profile, she could very well have been found guilty.

Yeah, Casey will write a book titled "If I Did It." Oh - that title has already been taken. So I guess now she will search for the REAL killer!
