Case of beer, well actually three

Well, what my husband and BIL did was take my nephew's stroller with them to throw it in, so they didn't have to carry it the whole way(I know it sounds bad... ;)) Then I think they asked for bags maybe at the gas station, but when they got back on the bus they were surprised b/c everyone was asking where they got it from. The other people on the bus were all impressed/jealous that they had figured a place to get it.. LOL I would have felt awkward as well, though, so I can understand that... But it is definitely an option for you..:)

 Instead of taking a stroller (which is much too small), take a piece of carry-on luggage. DH has done this before and it works well.:yay:

Now THAT is CLEVER!:thumbsup2 I am really impressed and will be using that myself-THANKS!! Last year I sweet talked my local distributor into selling me a case of plastic bottles and distributed the weight among my bags. I also brought a soft sided cooler which I filled with ice and left in the tub and each day my DH had cold beer. But I like your idea much betterer:cool1:

The Hess station across the street from DTD is a great way to buy beer pop or anything else. They also have fresh brewed coffee, hot pizza by the slice, hot dogs nacho's and other hot food. We went to get a case of water and also got a slice of pizza and a pop for way less then you could get it at WDW.

Do they also sell wine?

I like your style, KikiLime.

We drove down in April, and had our big cooler with us. We stopped at the Total Wine and Spirits store in Downtown Orlando and bought 2 cases of beer and a fifth of whiskey.

I believe that the Hess at DTD does have wine.

Can someone give me exact directions to the Hess station? Which stop to get off on at DTD etc...

Heading down in 10 days !!!!
I too would like the directions to the Hess station as this will be our first visit.
Thanks!

There are 2 Hess Stations you can get beer at that are somewhat convenient.

The first is by DTD, across the street from the Pleasure Island entrance bus stop. Take any Downtown Disney Bus and get off at that stop and just cross the street.

The second Hess is across the street from the Boardwalk Hotel/Villas front entrance. I'm staying there and will be walking down for some brew :drinking1

If you are staying at any of the Boardwalk area hotels (YC, BC, BWH, BWV, Swan, Dolphin) it is easier to walk down to that Hess.

We have a late arrival flight. I was wondering if Garden Grocer will deliver groceries prior to us arriving?? And if they would, will they deliver alcohol prior to us arriving??? Any info would be helpful!!!:confused3 :confused3 Alcohol situation is VERY importan ya know!

Just wanted to chime in..

We are headed to WDW next week.. I called the Hess station by DTD last night to verify with them that they sell the items on our list

-cartons of cigarettes- He quoted $28 for a carton of Marlboro including tax (here at home DH pays around $45)
-beer
-cases of water
-12 packs of soda
-chips
-donuts
-styrofoam coolers

We were planning on taking a taxi to a grocery store but decided since we can get the items we need at Hess we will just take a bus ride to DTD to get the items we need.. We are taking a soft sided rolling cooler with us and will keep ice in there and then will buy a styrofoam cooler and leave that behind when we check out since we are flying..

I figure that these items might be a little higher $ than home but it'll save a ride to the grocery store via taxi since we are taking ME..

Garden Grocer will ask you for a two hour time frame that you would like your groceries delivered. If you won't be in the room-just ask them to leave it with bell services and bell services can deliver it to your room when you arrive. I know how good a beer is after a long day traveling!!

Thanks soooo much!! You got it!!! Nothing better than a cold beer after traveling all day!! Thanks again:lovestruc :worship: :lovestruc :worship: :lovestruc :worship:

Just wanted to update..

we just got back from WDW on Thursday.. On our first day we were in DTD.. we walked over to Hess.. it was maybe a 15 minute walk.. we were able to purchase everything we wanted...

18 pack of Coors Light - around $13
12 packs of Coke- I believe they were $3 per 12 pack
styrofoam cooler- $6.99
several cartons of Marlboro cigarettes- $28 and some change..

They really did have everything there we could have wanted.. it was very easy.. we just walked back to the bus stop at DTD and then headed back to the resort..

It was nice having everything we needed without having to pay for a taxi ride or pay extra to have it delivered..
