Carthay Circle Question...

I have a family of very picky eaters. Do you think it would be ok if I make a reservation at an off time (like 3pm) and only order dessert? We are going the third week of August if that makes any difference. I would love to go eat there, but there is just not really a food option that would work for us.

I have a family of picky eaters, and we are able to eat there. The biscuits are so fantastic. You really need to try them. Everyone loved the tri tip. The burger is a bit much, especially when my daughter requests it stripped to meat cheese and bun.... But yes, you can just order dessert. I would suggest you tip the server based on a full meal for everyone though. It is what we do when we take up a reservation like this. Otherwise, try for a walk up. You can also order a dessert in the lounge instead.

I second Napa Rose lounge. They open at 5pm, have comfy seating, and the desserts are WAY better than Carthay, IMO. Plus, the drink menu at Napa Rose is much better as well. Try the Kate & Ella! Amazing cocktail!

If you have kids, they have some really cute kid's desserts, or homemade ice cream that is out of this world!

Yes, you can. I asked one of the last times I was there. However, when my dd tried to get a table for just dessert, they turned her away. She is a teen tho and did not have a reservation. I made an 8:30 reservation for my birthday this year and we are planning just drinks and dessert. Maybe an appetizer to share. We love their desserts and we just love the overall feel of the place so it is my one birthday request!

I had my first Kate and Ella this past weekend at Carthay, and it was excellent, highly recommend them. I personally don't like waiting til the Napa Lounge opens at 5p, which is why I lean towards Carthay for my break.

Steakhouse 55 lounge is also pretty good, though it fills up quickly.

Napa now has a wine and cheese pairing thing they do on Saturdays at 2pm. It looks really good! Haven't tried it yet.

Where did you get the Kate and Ella? The restaurant or the lounge at Carthay? I have tried to order that drink with NO luck at both places. OMG, if they can finally make it, I will be SO happy!

I'd guess it had less to do with your DD just wanting dessert & more to do with them just not having last minute availbility. Also, your birthday plan sounds magical

I'm vegetarian and have loved my meals at carthay circle...fresh and unique.
There are so many good treats around they park, I don't think I'd go there just for desserts, but maybe apps and drinks if I wasn't feeling the full menu. Either way, I think it's fine.
