Carthay circle and wine country trattoria

Hello all! I'm a DLR local but I have a very rare day off tomorrow. I plan on doing a solo trip & get to ride what I want & eat what I want cuz of the kids. I've never tried Carthay Circle (considering lounge) and Wine Country Trattoria. Do I have to make a reservation or can I just walk in? TIA!

The Carthay Circle Lounge does not take reservation, so you can walk-up. As long as the seating area isn't full, they will allow you to dine there. I really enjoyed the Lounge food. It is different from the upstairs restaurant (you cannot order from the restaurant menu in the Lounge and vice-a-versa). I also enjoy the restaurant itself; the house biscuits are among my favorite items. In most cases, I think you can walk-up except perhaps on weekends (I've only been turned away once; it was a Saturday night in October).

The Wine Country Trattoria should also be available for walk-up (assuming good weather; when it's raining, they only take guests with reservations). I was not overly impressed with my one meal there and am not in any hurry to return. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't very good either. They did have trouble dealing with an allergy (seafood), so if you have allergies, I would not recommend the Trattoria.

You can always check online and see what kind of reservations are available. So many yummy offerings at Carthay Circle. We've been able to make same day reservations. If it's your day, pass on the Wine Country. Go big and enjoy.

There have been times where I have walked up to Wine Country to eat, only to find out they are already fully booked for the evening. I would keep it safe and make a reservation if you are thinking about WC.

OP here with an update!!! I'm sitting in Carthay circle's lounge. Am sitting at the bar & wonderful CM Jennifer has been helping me. Ordered the Pimm's Punch & lobster pad thai imperial roll. So far , extremely yummy!!! Already ordered the trip of cake pops for dessert! Definitely have to work out tomorrow!!!

Already have my birthday in October approved for a day off. Will definitely come back when my DH & 2 best friends join me!!!

Whoa!!! I WISH I had seen that! My drink had crushed ice. I've already planned that when we come back for my bday, I know DH will want the beer sampler. Not sure what my girlfriends will want.

By the way, I've seen your awesome posts & pics of Figment. Such a fan, especially of his stylish outfits!!! You actually inspired me...I created a TR for our staycation earlier this month. I have to post updates still. I have mini Ariel and Eric dolls. & they followed us on our trip !!! When I start posting attached pics, I'll let you know! (DH was such a sport. He was the one with the good camera. He would take them with him for various pics!).
