As a foreigner I'm very curious about cart food: I'd never heard about churros or corn dogs before visiting the disboards!
What else do they sell? What's your fav DL cart snack?

DH and I have thought of having a cart food dinner on our single day :sad2: in DL, but I heard that sometimes they close a couple of hours before the park. Is that true? Even when DL closes at 8 or 9 pm? :scared1:

Other options for our dinner could be Royal Street Veranda or Bengal Barbecue, they both look fast and yummy. Do they close early as well?

Thank you!

Don't forget Dole Whips!!! (next to the Tiki Room)

(Might want to do a search.)

DW & i actually prefer Dole Whip Floats. We get two straws & do a little "Lady & the Tramp" action on it. :cool1:

Not technically "cart food", but a great "quick breakfast" can be found at Pooh Corner. A bakery in the Pooh "ride dump". It's way out in left field & early to mid morning it's empty (as opposed to the equally wonderful Main St. bakery which is always packed in the morning.)

Churros
Popcorn
Caramel Popcorn
kettle Popcorn
Cotton Candy
Frozen Lemonade
Ice Cream Sandwiches

SOOOO MUCH FOOOOOOOOD!

I consider most of the ones mentioned above to be "snacks". If you want a meal, you could try:

Turkey Legs (HUGE!)
Chimichangas
during the holidays Tamales

I love bengal BBQ, but I must warn you it is VERY slow service !
Besides that I am not a cart food person myself.....unless waiting for a parade, then munching popcorn is fabulous!

popcorn was a favorite with our past trip, as were the churros and the Dole whips ( those are a MUST).

I must disagree. Avoid bengal bbq at all costs. We went a couple weekends ago and got a chicken and the spicy beef kabobs. Good lord I haven't had food that bad in a looong time. I know it's an amusement park so I'm not expecting gourmet food but I swear the meat was Grade F :scared1:

We're going with family again on the 15th and will be advising everyone to steer clear of BB :thumbsup2

Dole Whips
Churros
Fruit
Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars. Also Nestle Tollhouse Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches; however, Hydroguy recently reported them not being sold anymore. :sad1:

Ok the #1 cart food? PICKLES! Mmmmmm. From the cart by Splash. When I bought one, my friends are like 'Why is he buying a pickle?'. LOL. They are my favorite food.

Mmmm, what is kettle popcorn? And even more, Chimichangas?

Anyone knows about earlier carts closing time? Thank you!

Kettle Corn is popcorn that is sweet (made with sugar) & popped in a kettle.

A Chimichanga is a deep fried burrito (beef or chicken along with beans - & sometimes rice & onions - in a rolled flour tortilla.....then deep fried.

2 essential DL food group items with -0- calories. :thumbsup2

I'm thinking about taking your DL food-0-calories theory as valid for our trip. After all, it's 1 day, what can happen?
And even more, it's the Most Magical place on Earth, isn't it? This 0 calory thing is real magic! popcorn::

I agree 100%! I ALWAYS want to grab a bite there, it smells so yummy, so last trip while everyone else wewnt on HMH, I took DD who was feeling a bit scared and we grabbed a kabob. I don't think I've EVER been as dissapointed in a snack. It was AWFUL!

But i give the :thumbsup2 to popcorn..I collect the buckets! I've got almost 10 of them I've collected since 05 when we moved out west. They are great for the kids while we ride-swap, the ones left behind get pocorn to snack on. And over in the Nemo are, they sell chocolate popcorn!

-0- Calories is most certainly valid, Alby.

Several highly respected Disers (right here on this board) told me so. :dance3:

hound - :cool2:

:rolleyes1

Of course there are no calories at DL!!! I've always known and supported that! :) And the Nestle Toll House ice cream sandwiches aren't the best.....LOL In fact, we were at an A's/Angel's game in Sept (in Oakland) and we were discussing (as a family) which was better, ice cream at a ballpark or ice cream at Cold Stone....well in that one the ballpark won but the next round was ice cream sandwiches at the ballpark or ice cream sandwiches at DL, the vote was unanimously DL! LOL In fact.....after that game we jumped in the car and drove the 5-6 hours to Anaheim so we could spend some of Sunday at the parks!! LOL So, IMO the Toll House Cookie sandwiches are heaven at the ballpark but I'll take a Cookies and Cream Mickey head over those anyday!! LOL
