Ok trip is in 15 days now. Getting very excited, and time to start reading these boards again daily (it's been a good month or so, so I'm not sure of what's been discussed recently about Carsland)

Now there may already be a thread on this somewhere, and if so, please let me know, but here is what I want to know:

1) I want to know a good strategy plan for Carsland. (We are staying at the GCR).

2) I would like to know if anyone is tracking somewhere (would make a good thread I'm sure) a) how early the fp's are gone at RSR b) the fp return times for RSR.

Actually a daily tracking thread for when rsr runs out is a fantastic idea as long as we can get the info every day...

My line of thinking is I'm sure someone will be there every day and posting here too - so why not see how it goes in the next few weeks? :thumbsup2

Since CL just opened a few days ago there really is no "good strategy plan" yet. Today was the first day for EMH at DCA. Tomorrow for APEE. We are just hearing reports of what is going on. EMH and APEE will impact mornings at DCA in ways we really do not know. There is still a lot of guess work. The only thing we know at this point is that RSR FPs go fast and you need to get to DCA early.

Thanks HydroGuy. Question:
Today was the first day for EMH at DCA. Tomorrow for APEE.
So is it one day it's EMH for hotel guests and the next it's for APEE?

I got to the fastpass line today about 8:15. Should have been earlier, but it seemed like only 1 tram was running. Waited about 15 minutes and return time was 4:30. Walked by at 9 and return time was 10pm. Went to ride at 4:30 and RSR was down. Went back about 5:30 and fastpass wait was 45-60 minutes. Standby was 3 hours and single rider was 60 min. We decided not to wait. I rode with a couple of my kids at the preview Thursday and loved it, but none of our group of 7 wanted to wait that long in the sun. We have APs, so we will wait for fall to try again.

RSR Fastpasses ran out at 9:10am today.
They were also giving out Suprise Fastpasses For Grizzly RR for up to 6 people at the same time.

Wow! Can't believe how fast they are getting sold out!! I hope we can get one, I have to get on this ride, and my babies are too little to wait that long in a non fast pass line! Ha..

When I got my FPs for RSR this morning, I got a surprise FP for CA Screamin good for 6. Only 3 of our group rode it. DD10 would have preferred GRR as we didn't ride today as standby was 75 min.

We did RSR yesterday. Got to the fastpass line just before 8:00am. Gates seem to be opening early. Cast member working the fastpass machines told me that they are usually all distributed by 9:00 am or so. We got a 2pm return time.

Went to the ride around 4pm and it took almost exactly 45 minutes in the FP line. We had a single ride with us and he said he also waited 45 mins.

It's a great ride, so we're glad we spent the hour to ride it.

We got in the FP line this morning at rope drop...took about 20 minutes to get the FP and return time was 12:50 to 1:50. We went to ride at 12:50 and probably waited 20 minutes or so to ride. It was fantastic!

It's crazy how quickly FPs are running out! On Grand Re-opening day, FPs were out by about 9:45 AM, but not around 9:10!

I have heard several people report that they received the surprise FP to GRR or Screamin'!! How cool! I hope they continue doing that all summer!

Is the queue for RSR entirely in the sun? Or is it just because the waits are so long that the line is overflowing the queueing area and onto uncovered walkways?

The queue for RSR isn't ENTIRELY in the sun, but some of it is. There were three shack-style shaded locations that had fans (I don't know if they were blowing throughout the day, as I didn't wait in the normal line on GRO day). If I remember correctly, most if not all of the FP line is not shaded.

OT, I wonder how RSR would be like in the rain? :D

Touringplans is reporting that all FPs for RSR were distributed by 9:20am today.

A lot of the regular standby queue is covered, except where the line goes past the hour or so mark. At least that's what it looked like to me. Didn't wait that long so no personal experience on that. Yesterday the fastpass queue was almost all in the sun at 5:30 pm.

Yesterday, the CM at the FP machines for RSR said they were gone at 9:11. We got breakfast at Flo's (get the tamale - tasty!) then waited about 35 minutes in the single rider line - got in line about 10:40am and was on the ride about 11:15. DS12 and I were on the same car, just he was in the front seat and I was in the back; and DH was three cars behind us.

My suggestion - get there AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, and get the RSR FPs right away. Then, use the single rider line for ride #1; and ride it again with the FP. The RSR FP machines are just past the Carthay Circle restaurant - they are using the machines originally installed for It's Tough to Be a Bug. You don't have walk all the way into Cars Land for the FP.
