Carseat question

Hello.... Had a question for those who have traveled with children still in car seats. We are gonna be flying to DW then staying on property not needing to be in a regular car... Do you think we should bring or even need DD's car seat?

A car seat for your DD can be easily arranged both with the airline and with the transport agency you are using to travel from the airport to DW. Some places are very strict about their carseat policy so you might just want to call ahead and arrange it.

If you are using Magical Express to get to WDW from the airport you won't be able to use in there either. If you are renting a car or taking a taxi, you may need the carseat. Whether you use one on the plane is your decision (assuming you've paid for a seat for your child) - some people absolutely wouldn't let their child ride without it, others have no problem with their child sitting in the airplane seat.

You need to contact the airline to see what their policy is about carseats. We were not allowed to use ours and drug it to FL and back for nothing. What a pain!

We just got back from WDW. We brought a carseat for DS (2 1/2). We only used it on the plane. I was glad we brought it. Definately make sure your carseat is FAA approved.

if you won't be using a regular car (relying on disney bus transport, etc.) then i would say you don't need it - depending on how big your little one is. under 40 pounds they strongly recommend a carseat or the CARES harness for on the plane. the lap belts just aren't designed to hold them in place properly - especially in cases of turbulence.

there are a lot of people with different opinions on this subject so you have to make the decision that is best for you and your little one.

Thank you guys for your input. I just would hate to drag it around if I will not need it... no cars no taxi, just WDW transportation. I will need to call the airline though.

When we flew to Kansa my dd was under 40 lbs and we did not have a need for the car seat. Unfortunatley Hertz did not have a car seat there for us to rent as was requested so we had to stop at the nearest Target to buy my dd a car seat and then we just ended up bringing it home with us. If you are not going to need it I would not bother taking it at all. Not sure how old your child is but my gilrs flew when they were 3.
