When is the rumored date for cars land to open.....is it supposed to be early summer or late? Also has the Disneyland hotel finished their remodel?

Al Lutz, in a note in his column, said that the opening date will be June 15. Note that Al is not a Disney employee, and Disney hasn't announced an official date yet. But Al seems to get pretty good inside information, usually.

All three rides are complete and testing. June 15th will be it. The entire park will be closed to the public June 14 as media is invited.

AP holders will probably get to ride in May.

I highly doubt disney would close an entire park for the day so a few media could be invitied. Most likely they would either open the park late or close the park early. Dont forget that the 14th is also a planned Grad Night.

When DL park was being readied for the start of the 50th anniversary celebaration on May 2005, they closed DL for an entire day to prepare. This "grand re-opening" of DCA this year is maybe a bigger deal than DL's 50th and the PP may very well be right about it closing for a day.

A few?!? Disneyland is inviting upwards of 15,000+ media personal and celebrities. The current schedule has DCA closed to the public on the 14th, that's fact. Now, for various reasons these plans can change and Disney might find a way to squeeze the media and celebs into a cordoned off area, maybe by closing half the park, but that's probably not likely. Disneyland has closed for media days before, and this isn't any different.

could you point me to this official schedule showing the park closed all day on the 14th? I would be interested because we are going to be staying at the GCV 9-16 and it would be nice to see the schedule of activities and hours for that week. I looked on their website and unfortunatley I can only see out to the end of March.

Hmmm, DH has a work thing in So Cal that weekend, so we are contemplating going on Sunday the 17th.

I'm wondering if the crowds will be insane at both parks or more at DCA? We have no need to see Carsland on opening weekend (NOT with two young kids.)

We'll stick to DL that day if need be!

Just realized that the 17th is Father's Day. Wondering if that'll do anything for the crowds. (Probably not, of course.)

I would guess normal busy at DL park on the 17th and very busy at DCA.
