I'm taking my DS2 for a day trip next Thursday. I plan to be at the gates 30 min. prior to opening so we can get into Cars Land once it opens. Do the two smaller rides (Mater & Luigi's) form lines quickly or are they fairly short while eeryone rushes over to RSR?

Is there anything else in CL for the little guy to play on/with or is it just the two rides?

We're going with our 2 year old, and I am thinking that she's not tall enough to go on any of the rides. I'll have to measure though. I know she'd love to ride Mater's, but I think she's only 28 inches right now.

I'll be interested to see what other's say. I plan on also getting photos with the cars which I hear is by the cozy cones and then getting a snack. I think everything else is just to look at and might be over her head.

It would have been awesome if they had built a play area for all the little guys not tall enough for the 3 rides in the land.

We went on the preview day (June 14th) so I can't speak to the crowds. I took my 2 1/2 year old DD. She is really tall (just a smidge under 40" -- they wouldn't let her ride RSR).

We rode Mater's Junkyard Jamboree 2 or 3 times and she liked it quite a bit. She stood in line for Luigi's with my mom and sister, but it was a longish line and after 30 minutes they bailed out. I think they were probably another 2 or 3 cycles away from loading.

They did have the different character cars out and about, but I don't know if that was just for the media. We took pics of her with Red, and she "spoke" to Lightening and Mater (couldn't take pics with them because they were roped off so the media could get shots without random people in them). Fillmore's hut has a small false doorway on the back/side of the dome that has hippie beads flowing down the frame. She really enjoyed standing behind it (hiding), and running through the beads to surprise us. Your child may enjoy that as well. There are a few benches nearby to rest on. The rest of the land was not very toddler friendly, I'm afraid.

All in all, my DD was just as happy to go ride the Carousel and LM, and even though we skipped it that day she always LOVES Bugsland and the water play area.

Hope you enjoy your time!

Thank you for the info. DS is 38" so I know he won't be able to get on RSR, unfortunately. But I think he will still enjoy Mater and Luigi. Not sure about getting pics with the Cars characters, sometimes he is good about that and other times he is not.

We will just head over there first thing and then move onto Bugs Land and then over the DL. Probably end the day back at the Bugs Land water play area, so he will sleep on the way back home.

If you want to do Luigi's do it ASAP. The line moves very slowly and can get up to 2 hours during the day. I rode it last weekend first thing with a 15 min wait and I enjoyed it. Mater's can develop long lines too, but its line builds slower.
