Carrying my Tervis

I like to have breakfast in the MDRs, and will go to the one where my serving team is rotating too, so I ask them the night before to have POG juice available for me in the MDR as well. A++ would drink again!

What is POG juice?

I bring my cup for one simple reason... I HATE the taste of drinks when drunk out of paper cups. Always have. If I dump it into my plastic cup it's fine.

(I've also used it to stock up on POG juice for the day when I've found that in Cabanas at breakfast!)

OK, figured out what it is! I loved that juice at Boma! They have it at the Kona Cafe too under a different name.

Anyway, where onboard can I find this juice?

If they have it - they don't always - I've found it in Cabanas at breakfast only.

Papaya Orange Guava. It's a very popular drink in Hawai'i. My nephew was practically weaned on it.

Kinda timely here, a friend of mine from work sailed out on the Dream yesterday and there were a bunch of signs in and around Cabannas that said "Don't use personal cups". Has anyone else heard anything about this?

When I was on the Dream in July there was in fact a sign that said please do not use personal cups. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the sign and was surprised to see it and figured it was new.

Does anyone know if the handles for the 16oz. fit the Castaway Club tumblers they give as returning cruiser gift? I love the cups, but they are useless to me if i can't easily carry them to/from/at work.

I've never gotten a CC tumbler. Are they like the fake Tervis tumblers they give at the DVC meetings? Then yes, basically (assuming you're talking about the Tervis handles). I just tried with the fake Tervis DVC tumbler we have.

The new Castaway Club gift includes an insulated tumbler. Not a great one, the top just seals on, doesn't screw on. And it's not really a vacuum insulated cup, just two layers with air between them.

I had a great one of these from the university I work at -- but once there is any fissure that allows liquid to leak between those two layers, the tumbler is done!

We are Gold, are those in the gift they are giving Gold members? I always bring a travel mug for each person in my party but maybe I'll leave 1 or 2 home? How many do you get?

The basic gift is a bag (of some sort - beach bag, back pack, sling pack). I believe the added Gold gift is the tumbler. I think our EBTA might have been the first cruise that had them. We only got one, but I've read that most rooms are getting two now.

We went ahead and picked up a pair of handles at BBB for our mugs. Fits great and now I can use them! If you put them on from the bottom up, they cover the CC logo, but if you place them on from the top, they fit just fine and you can still see the words

Even though apparently I was talking about the wrong thing, I'm glad I was able to help. Since you can put it on from above, be *careful* with the tumbler just in case the weight of the liquid might cause it to slip out.

Seriously? You mean something they deliver to the room? I've never heard of that -- is it new. But do we get anything extra with the bag besides the tumbler? Or that is the extra I guess LOL I think I'd rather have two tumblers

Don't know how "new" it is. On our last cruise, we were asked at Guest Services what we'd like delivered. As that's the Platinum gift.

The bag is the Silver gift
The tumbler (currently) is the Gold gift
And the delivery (of whatever) is the Platinum gift.
