Has anyone actually done this? Who should I speak to? It was mentioned on another thread that it is regularly done but I made a reservation through Dreams Unlimited prior to reading this, and when I checked they said it is not possible. I haven't actually paid my deposit with them yet, so if there is a way I can do it, it would be a really great saving. Thanks everyone.

I just called Disney. According to the CM I spoke with it is NOT possible.

This is not possible. The best you could do is carry it through the first day of your second day since the credits are good through 12 MN of the day of check out , (first stay).
The DDP requires a full rate resort stay and a minimum of a one day base ticket per person for each resort stay.

I hoped to do this as well but cannot be done. that's one of the reasons we actually decided not to do the DDP next year. You need two bookings, both with dining, and then keep track of your credits for the first half the stay and start all over again for the second. It became too much of a headache making sure you use up the credits properly.

You have to buy a 1 day pass to get the dining plan at your
second resort.

However if you have leftover credits on your checkout day....
you can use them till midnight...So it will be like having it on your
1st night in new resort.

This is such a drag! I just don't get it - why wouldn't they change this policy? Ít boils down to punishing people for changing resorts! Okay - rant over - we're still doing it. Problem is we don't have a first day or last day - full travel days both days. We won't get to the Poly until about 9pm on first day, last day at BC we leave to be at the airport at 5:30am (yikes!). But today someone very lovely on the dining board gave me her castle reservation on our first day as she can't make it - so there is some pixie dust out there for me... :)

I don't think there's been any change in policy; more likely that there was misinformation in the other thread that you read. This has been the policy for as long as they've had the MYW Dining plan, AFAIK.

Disney doesn't see what you're doing as changing resorts- to them, it's two completely separate reservations. From what I've read here, the resorts are almost run as independent businesses, so there's no way to have one reservation for stays at two different resorts.
