Carrying beers at Disney Springs

Heading to Disney Springs for the first time this evening and I was wondering, if you buy a beer are you allowed to stroll around with it like in the parks? We are at the Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza for our last night (after a great week at CBR) and hope to take the DS boat over to Boatwrights at POR for our 7:35 pm dinner reservation. Not sure how long to allow for travel, either. Any input appreciated!

I know I could stroll around with the margarita I bought so it'll probably be the same with beer.

Forgot to add I was at POR and took the boat to Disney Springs - it was a good hour between waiting for the boat and then stopping at POFQ before heading to DS.

Yes but it needs to be in plastic or a can or one of those aluminum bottles - no glass. Not sure you would be allowed to take one on the boat if you're thinking of that.

You can buy a beer outside from a kiosk but I'm not so sure about beer "to go" from some of the restaurants.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I've always wanted to do the POR to DS boat ride but we may just drive!

Yup - however there are a few locations who either by policy or their liquor license don't allow to-go beer. I know Starbucks doesn't allow to-go beer/wine and I know there was another one that I can't remember.

The Boathouse gives you a nice reusable plastic to-go cup.

A good 30 minutes if you fit on the first boat that arrives. (that time, I would think you wont). Bus would be faster. Also factor in where you are in springs before going over there as the buses are in the middle of springs now which is a lot closer to the bars than the boat all the way over by the old bus stop. the boat to get over to that dock stops in the middle so going west side to east takes longer to boat than walking and you'll pass the buses in the middle so again the bus might be quicker.

The boat is a nice ride if you've never done it and have the time. I've done it just to take the ride and relax. great view off the tree house villas also.

If your serious about driving. Uber is in strawberry lot (next to cirque, use the walkway between house of blues and cirque). generally takes about 5 minutes if you wait at all for an uber and under 10 to get to por. Then we don't need to worry about you driving after some drinks.

The boatride is really nice. We take it every time we stay at POFQ.

I am not sure if I am answering your question, or just adding info you did not ask for. You cannot take alcohol out of the park, so if you buy a beer inside DHS, you must consume it or toss it before you leave. You will not be able to take your drink onto Disney transportation, so if you have an beverage, make sure it is non alcoholic.

I found out the hard way hard beverages need to be consumed within the parks. But after I paid $15 for Nuvo....well we made our ADR at Cape May, but boy that was a long walk! LOL!!!

I thought that was what the refillable mugs are used for?? lol

I usually have a margaritta in mine whether going to a park in the evening or DTD or at the resort! Planning on a larger mug between Christmas and New Years when we are at SSR and walking distance for our ADRs in DTD :)

Now why did I not think of that???? I was on a girls trip and we had bought a beverage before entering the monorail. Now I knew no alcohol in the park, so we went over to the fence line near the boats to finish our drinks. All of a sudden we noticed a slew of security men approaching. Oppppps! I am not a rule breaker by nature, so I was kind of surprised!!!! I had no ide that pesky no alcohol thing pertained to even before you entered!!!! LOL!!!

Never fear....I got the beverage down before I had to toss my cup into the pail! LOL!!!
