This may be a dumb question but I figure its better to ask now than take it for granted and be (unpleasantly) surprised when we get to the World in 12 days (woohoo  )...
If you arrive before your on-site room is ready and you have your carry-on baggage with you, the front desk will take it and place it in your room along with your other checked bags, correct? Or, is there a way to add it to your checked bags upon boarding the ME bus? I just was wondering what was the norm and also trying to make sure Im not toting an extra bag around for half a day at a park.

Maybe you could post this on the Resorts board and they might be able to help.

i was wondering the same thing please tell us. Because I will have important things in my carry on and dont just want them hanging around somewhere. I was thinking of renting a locker till I could get into the room. Any ideas?

Please and thank you

If your room isn't ready, you can check your carryon with bell services at the resort. I'm not sure if you have to pick it up from bell services or if it's delivered to your room when it is ready.

Well I know that bell service doesn't always deliver you baggage. I've heard it can take hours for them to deliver it (and I know it was bell service not ME).

Check in your bags and go to the parks.

I doubt things have changed, but in 2002 we drove to WDW and arrived at POFQ at 9:30 AM to check in. Our room wouldn't be ready for quite a while so they checked us in, gave us our park ticket/room key (which they somehow coded for the room number even though they couldn't tell us exactly where our room was at the time we checked in) and collected our luggage to be held. We were also given a card with a telephone number to call before returning to POFQ. We called from the MK when we were ready to return to POFQ for a dip in the pool later that afternoon and were told our room number. When we arrived at POFQ we went directly to our room and our key cards got us in. I called the registration desk from our room and asked to have our luggage delivered. About 20 minutes after getting in to our room our luggage was delivered. It all worked very smoothly. ME wasn't around then, but I'm sure things will work pretty much the same.

I understand the part where they will put your bags in your room once its ready if you have already taken off to a park. I dont mind checking it with bell services and picking it up when we return, I just want to know our carry-ons are somewhere safe (enough) while we are gone. This has to be a pretty common occurance so when we get there I will as the desk what is the norm.

As other posters have stated, if your room ISN't ready, your carry-ons can be given to bell-services to hold while you go off and have fun. If your room is ready, you can go up and drop off your carry-on. If you took ME, your checked baggage will arrive later in the day. We have luckily had some pixie dust :wizard: and our room has always been ready early. We drop off the carry-ons in the room and head out to the parks.
