How strict are airlines about carry-on sizes?

I've never traveled with a carry-on. Airline rules say I'm allowed one that's 9x16x19. My new Disney luggage is 8x15x21. It's 1 inch smaller one way and 2 inches larger the other.

Do you think this will be a problem?

Depends on the airline. Who are you flying? On most airlines you are well within the limits.....

OK. I saw your other post.

Skybus is being run on the EasyJet and Ryan Air model (from Europe)

This line on their website is VITAL to you.

Please don’t try to bring overweight or oversized items into the cabin as you may be refused travel until the item has been checked in and the required fees paid.

I would assume they will NOT let you board with the luggage. For $36 they NEED that $5 for checking your bag. You will have to downsize your luggage or pay the fee.

Also, remember your liquids are still subject to the TSA rules.

Well, that's what I figured. I don't think I can go to Florida for 10 days with only a carry-on anyways. I probably will have one bag to check...it's only $5 additional.
