Carry On Question

Has anyone used a Vera Bradley large duffle as a carry on with Spirit Airlines? Thanks in advance!!!

I'm sure they have. If it fits the dimensions of their carry-on limit, you should be fine.

I just got a new wheelie carry on and even though it measures up just fine according to the airline's website, I'm considering taking it to the terminal sometimes before I fly to make sure it fits into the sizers they have at the check in area.

My daughter takes her carry on suitcase and she takes her large Vera duffle as a personal item. She packs it so it still can fit under the seat in front of her though. I am sure if she "packed" it, it would be fine as a carry on (not as a personal item though)

Spirit has smaller than normal sizing for everything! From their website the free one personal item "Dimensions must not exceed 16 x 14 x 12 inches"- they charge you for a carry on and it costs more than a checked bag. We are flying with them on Saturday and ended up buying really small back packs for our personal item. The bag you have is?? 22" x 11½" x 11½" ??.........other people have said on here for spirit if it is squishable it should work and fit in their sizers?

Even if someone has used one, you could have a totally different experience.
If they had a crew of Spirit workers who didn't care or were having a great day, they may have been able to use something that isn't typically permitted.
If you get a grumpy, hate the world crew, they could measure every bag that goes through.

You need to measure the bag and be certain that it complies with the dimensions required by Spirit.
That is the only way you will know for certain that it will be permitted, and the only way you will have a leg to stand on if they challenge the size.

As a pp suggested, either go to the airport prior to your trip and make sure it fits in the sizing bin, or pack it in such a way that you still have the ability to squish it down to size.

I don't understand why you are asking again; this question has already been answered. As the above poster has stated, if it meets the dimensions for a carry-on, it's okay.

I have a Coach duffle the same size as your VB. it does "squish" and easily fit into Spirits bag sizer with no problem. Have used it many times and it easily fits under seat.

Thank you all for your kind replies!!! It does meet the requirements. Have brought this bag on United & SW. Just feeling kinda of nervous with Spirit. (have never flown with them) Was hoping someone had actually used the VB one on their Spirit flight. Everyone keeps telling me that they are super strict....don't want to be hit with an extra $100.00 fee!!! Thanks again for all your help!!! Have a magical day!!!
