Carrie Underwood

I wish her an easy recovery.

As for those jumping to covering up plastic surgery or, as I saw on Facebook, spousal abuse... just stop. That's just silly. Why do we have to question what she is telling the public? I have seen some horrific injuries from a "simple" fall. Just all depends on how you fall, how you hit, and what exactly you hit.

It was her comment that I read, "When you see me, I might look a bit different" that led me to immediately think of plastic surgery. Not that she needs it. She's gorgeous! It's just the first thing that came to mind, since she seems to be covering up her whole face.

Depending on the injuries, it is very possible there was extensive stitching or fixing of the face. This can cause scarring, swelling, and other changes to the face that could cause her to "look a bit different" without there having been chosen plastic surgery. She is only mentioning the stitches... it is possible she also had broken bones in her face.

For sure. Whatever the case may be, I'm glad she's on the mend.

I did wonder about plastic surgery after seeing the news article today, but...

a few years ago my sister tripped on a sidewalk (tree root had made it uneven) and hurt her knee, jaw, broke her nose and had a tooth go through her lip. It was horrible. She couldn't work for years. It was so so so bad.

Also, a couple years after that my mom tripped or somehow fell out of their RV. Which means she fell 2-3 steps from the door to the cement pad below. She broke her wrist, elbow and hurt her knee (culminating in a knee replacement a year later) as well as just looking so horrible from the injury.

Just based on these two incidents in my own family I can see how a 'simple fall' can result in some major injuries. Luckily, i'm the one who is not clumsy in the family!

A little over a month after surgery, Underwood was spotted on social media for the first time in a photo with a fan. That fan happened to have quite a following because she used to star on the Bravo reality show Below Deck. Adrienne Gang wrote, "Just worked out next to @carrieunderwood NBD ... she is adorable and so gracious... LOVE HER!" alongside a photo of the two of them after the workout.

i can't really tell much difference in what she looks like now and what she looked like before. She still gorgeous.

^^^^ If thats what Carrie looks like after a workout, she has nothing to worry about!
She looks the same to me.

Yep, a friend and I were just talking about people we knew who had bad falls and how serious they can be, even deadly. She personally lost a relative who fell down the stairs (he was elderly), and knows a local woman who recently died in a fall down cement steps on vacation. I know someone who fell on cement at a pool a year ago and is still recovering from those injuries.

I hope that Carrie Underwood can make a full recovery, it has to be hard to be in the public eye and dealing with a disfiguring injury

I saw that photo posted of her from early December with the fan as well. Her face maybe looks a little swollen, but considering it was just weeks after the supposed fall, it doesn't seem to jive with 40-50 stitches in the face. And would she be working out with that kind of injury at that stage?

One theory I read is that she had plastic surgery unrelated to her fall (if there was a fall) and it was botched, which is why there were so many stitches and why she is prefacing this by saying she may look different.

Another theory is that she really was injured in a fall and is now dealing with a subsequent medical diagnosis that may have caused this. They were talking about it on the radio this morning and thought her wording in the post was peculiar - most people will sustain the injury, recover from it, and life goes on. She is talking about it being life changing and thanking her family for being by her side, which could be construed as dramatic if it's a superficial face injury.

I honestly think if she had plastic surgery she'd admit to it. She a pretty honest person and I don't think she's one to lie about things

There's been plastic surgery speculation on her before, especially compared to her American Idol years. She's portrayed as a wholesome down to earth person so I think any admission of plastic surgery would go against her image. Nothing wrong with plastic surgery, but I'm not as convinced she'd be forthcoming about it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with plastic surgery either, I just can't image with her strong moral and strong Christian faith that she would be okay with lying letting this go on and on if it wasn't the truth.

I hear that. I'm not sure I'm buying the botched plastic surgery theory myself either, but it's one circulating right now so thought I'd mention it.

theory = unsubstantiated rumor

I saw that picture today too. Not that this is any of my business, but Carrie Underwood is infinitely more fascinating than the boring project I should be doing at work.

With that, I don't know why she posted that picture and comment yesterday since she doesn't look any worse for the injury and/or having 40-50 stitches. She didn't actually say they were on her face, just that she might look different. Unless she's really insecure, she should have figured out that she looks the same. Maybe she had the stitches in her mouth? Maybe she wanted publicity? No idea.

Back to boring project ..

The photo with the fan is from early December and was posted by the fan. I think that photo led to a lot of these questions/speculation, because it supposedly was taken weeks after her accident and doesn't seem to jive with the 40-50 stitches, unless they were in her mouth perhaps.

She does say in her post that she "somehow managed to injure my face as well" and then later mentions the 40-50 stitches. So we're led to believe the stitches were somewhere on her face, I guess.
