Did anyone else read that she fell at her home, broke her wrist and had 40-50 stitches in her face? I believe she personally posted that either to FB or Twitter.

I think she has amazing talent. I don't think I watched her compete on American Idol.

That's what I was thinking too. It seems strange that this happened in November, but it's just being reported now.

I don't think it was voluntary plastic surgery. She's a pretty woman -- maybe she used some Botox, but I can't imagine her having extensive plastic surgery (*cough* *Kardashians*)

It just strikes me that looks are fleeting.

Yes, it was on The Today show this morning. She's all covered up pretty much, just eyes are showing

Her statement had me wondering if there is something serious going on. Like maybe she fell because of a previously undiagnosed condition and now she has a diagnoses. Or maybe she was/is pregnant and has complications because of the fall. I think the plastic surgery comments are ridiculous. Stars just deny plastic surgery, they don't make up a fall with a broken wrist and a big announcement.

Wow... throwing out the assumption that this was plastic surgery.
I am not going that direction at all.
She is talking about an injury and scar from over 40 stitches.
I can see where she would have a very very hard time dealing with this kind of possibly disfiguring accident.
And, I would have absolutely NO expectation that she would have to open up about it immediately.

It sounds like she tried to use her wrist to break her fall.

As I said, I doubt she's covering up plastic surgery. I hope she recovers well and that she adjusts to her new normal, whatever that may be.

I can't even imagine the size and severity of lacerations that would require 50 stitches. DD17 got a three inch laceration on her forehead a couple of months ago which was pretty deep. They only used nine stitches to close it up, and it healed very nicely. Mederma really helped, BTW, and you really don't notice the scar unless you look for it.

I hope she is okay. She is a beautiful woman and an amazing talent. She said she wanted to let people know because she will look a bit different. I think she will be beautiful no matter what. I remember hearing about the fall a while ago, but maybe she had to wait to heal before getting surgery. It sounds like it was a bad fall.

Could be that she had layers of stitches. I was a nanny for a girl who fell and cut her chin open. She had something like 8 or 10 internal stitches and then another group of external. I think it depends on the location and the depth of the injury.

Her fall happened in November. She has an Instagram photo that has a scarf covering her face except for her eyes. I hope she will be ok after the facial injury as well as wrist.

I saw that picture- if you look closely at her cheek under her left eye, there are visible stitches. I am guessing they are hopefully just on that side of her face. Poor thing! How scary to wake up after surgery to hear that you have that many stitches- and on your face!

As for those jumping to covering up plastic surgery or, as I saw on Facebook, spousal abuse... just stop. That's just silly. Why do we have to question what she is telling the public? I have seen some horrific injuries from a "simple" fall. Just all depends on how you fall, how you hit, and what exactly you hit.

And it’s not hard to find those injuries logical. Her wrists snapped breaking her fall and her face hit. Seems simple enough to me.
