Carrie on NBC Tonight

This new Carrie movie is coming on NBC tonight. Does anyone plan on watching it? I'm going to watch it, but I don't have high hopes for it. I don't know if it can be better than the original. But then again when they made a remake of The Shinning I ended up liking that one better than the original...who knows?

As for the Shining, I agree. The second one was much creepier and much truer to the book.

I might watch some of it, I think the original was well done. Don't think anyone could do better than Sissy as Carrie.

I read the book in the 70s and then saw the original--can't watch this one anyway as the kiddoes are awake--can still picture that arm popping up at the end!

Was the Shining with Jack Nichelson (sp?) movie #1 or #2? I just watched that version again the other night. Verrry scary!

No, this was THREE hours! It was kinda lame...definatly not as good as the first but it seems to have better special effects. That's probably about the only good thing I can say about it.

Jack was in the first Shining. The guy from that old tv show Wings was in the 2nd version. The second version of the Shinning was better I though because it was more like the book. The first version did some kinda retarted things. Like what was with the maze and him freezing to death outside??? What about the boiler??? I like the ending on the second version much better because that's the way it was in the book. The new Carrie on the other hand was...let's just say it wasn't very good.

From the comments I guess I'm glad I didn't watch it. I kind of wanted to but the "Monday Night Comedy Shows" were on CBS at the same time, and our VCR isn't working right so I had to make a choice, and DH was in the house so we decided on the comedy shows, looks like I made the right choice. I just watched the original one again a few weeks ago, it's one of my favorites.
