Carribean resort rumor?

Anyone heard this? While chatting on a bus, a gal told us that her daughter works for Disney, and how sad she was that the CBR was going to be made over into timeshares.

Interesting......and I doubt it...........but......

I can hear someone saying..........

'Arrggggggg, the caste system has infiltrated DVC. I'M SELLING! All they want to do is create a second class DVC option under the guise of allowing people to make their points go farther, or allowing a cheaper buy in price that can still get them a week. However, they will make the points per night only slightly less than the current OKW points. Once they determine that they can get those exorbitant, inflated points for a watered down, non-'Disney' experience they will realize that they can jack up the points required to stay at the real deal DVC, which will no longer be 'Disney' because the points will be so high that the value, the one true barometer of 'Disney' will be gone. Aarrrrrgggggggg!!!'

Please, please don't let AV come in here with a one liner implying that this one might be closer than any of us want to believe. I couldn't take it!

There are 2 facts that might have been disorted to become this rumor.

1) The CBR is closed for remodeling (and also probably due to low attendance)

2) There are some timeshares being built very near the CBR on land not owned by Disney.

There have been some intestesting suggestions about how to fix the Moderate "problem"....




P.S. I don't want to be cryptic, it's that most of the ideas will go no where so there's no real point in posting them as rumors. The Company is filled with all kinds of freshly minted MBAs who spend tremendous amounts of time dreaming up money-making schemes. And like almost everything dreamed up by a MBA, the plan is completely unworkable and never makes it past the PowerPoint slide. Every once and a while one will make it through before being shot down, others come close to reality and then don't procede for one reason or another.

There are a lot of "wrong" rumors that actually were being planned, but them were changed before becoming reality. So before you started screaming "IT'S A LIE!!!!!!", sit back and enjoy the 'Jungle Cruise'...

Thanks for the ps Mr. AV (I think). Frankly your ......'s always frighten me.

So, some hairbrained MBA might have put pen to paper regarding the conversion of a moderate to DVC, but like some (unfortunately not all) hairbrained schemes this one died an early death.

Now, talking about moving a thread in a direction, with all the talk of 'Disney Classics' on Scoops rumors site thread (how did they get where they are on that thread ) you are bound to get people upset with that JC bit - as intended. Lets hear more.......

I wouldn't mind seeing JC go, assuming it is replaced with something great (actually, I hope they wait until after ME so there is a chance that something great will take it's place).

I love all of the old attractions, but at some point Disney will have to either replace or redo them. JC at the very least could use a major overhaul. Adventureland could really use a new major attraction. The Carpets spinner has helped bring people back to Adventureland (as much as I hate to admit it), but I think a new ride is still needed as it would help bring people back to PoTC and Tiki.

The new boats are less than two years old, they're being repainted again, the sound systems are being tested, accessibility is still being worked on... We're still doing around 100% of our OHRC (often more than 100%) and money keeps going in.
