We are trying to decide which resort to stay at for two nights after our cruise. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I have stayed at both and I have to say that I think for adults and kids both you can't beat Port Orleans. The setting is very romantic for adults lots of garden areas to sit in and the pool and slide just can't be beat for the kids. Of course if you are more interested in renting a water mouse or such then I would go with CB

I've never been to CBR but would definitly stay at POR again. We stayed there last year for 4 nights and absolutely loved it! 2 thumbs up!

We've stayed at both CBR and POR. Loved CBR until we stayed at POR. That's where we're taking the family to in March. Beautiful grounds, bike & boat rentals, the boat to Downtown Disney, the beautiful mansions and the great pools. My DH and I stayed last year in POR. We can't wait for the rest of the family to see this beautiful place! :disrocks: Of course, anywhere you stay at Disney is magical!

Port Orleans gets my vote! :wizard:

We stayed at both, and although CB is nice, it is just to big for us. We prefer PO and will be arriving there in one week!!!

Okay, seems as though more people really think POR is better. Now, I'm not sure what to do. Showed my 4 year old some pics of both places on the Disney website when I was looking at the info and the first thing out of her mouth was that the big masks hanging from the food court looked "scary". I like the decor and look of POR but am worried about her being frightened every time we walk past the lobby and restaurants. I don't know if this will be a big deal for her or not but don't want her freaking out every time we have to walk through.
Any thoughts?

There aren't masks hanging at Riverside, the masks are at French Quarter. Even though they are sister resorts you make your reservation for one or the other. PO Riversisde is our favorite too :sunny:

I've never stayed at Caribbean Beach before but I've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and loved it. Don't think you can go wrong there.

Never stayed at CBR, but we stayed at POFQ in June and loved it. The beignets at the food court are heavenly and pretty reasonably priced. Also, we at there for dinner one night and the portions were really good sized. Its smaller than CBR and more quiet. DD enjoyed the serpent slide at the pool.

We have stayed at both and didn't like CBR. It was too spread out. The busses and food court were also a lot slower. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

Another vote for POR here. I've stayed at both PO and CBR. Definately liked PO more. The Mardi Gras masks are at the food court at PO French Quarter not PO Riverside. Riverside is lush, and subdued. The boat transportation to DTD is an added bonus, even if you just want to take the boat for a peaceful ride down the Sassagoula. Now with the added horse drawn carriage ride - it must be just charming. So far, PO is my favorite.

POFQ. Stayed at both CBR and POFQ. Really liked CBR too, but POFQ is absolutely charming, much smaller than CBR. It just went went through a big renovation (which I think POR is doing now in phases). Pool is grerat, too.

Here is my vote for POR. We are going to stay at Pop in June, but I would have loved to go back to Port Orleans again. I felt that CBR was too large. The buses took forever to get back to the area you stayed.

I love the feel of POR. It is very quite. I also like that fact you have the ability to go over to the old Dixie Landings as well. The pathway between both of these hotels is beautiful. Good luck wherever you decide to stay. You really can not go wrong with any Disney Hotel!

Gotta post my vote for CBR! the atmosphere at PO can't touch that of CBR. The relaxing feeling you'll find at CBR will make you want to come back again and again.

We have stayed at both within the past year, and we think that POR is the better choice by far. CBR is way too spread out. When you are so far away from the resort center that you need to take your car to get a drink or snack, it tends to spoil the relaxing atmosphere!
