I have been to the CB, but never Coronado Springs. I am interested in it simply because I have yet to stay there.

My wife and I are going on our honeymoon in early November aboard the Magic and are staying in WDW for 2 nights after the cruise.

My vote is for the Coronado! It is a very beautiful resort, especially at night! Its spread out around a lake with 3 different types of buildings/sections, so it all doesn't look the same.

They are both great spacious hotels. I would go w/CBR. CSR is great but I've had a few not so great encounters w/cast members.

I haven't stayed at CBR - but I absolutely LOVED CSR! It's absolutely beautiful and I personally like the Pepper Market MUCH better then the food court at POR - the other moderate I've stayed at(and I'm pretty sure the food court at CBR is the same as POR) I'd definitely call it more of a "honeymoon" hotel then the other moderates.

My vote goes to CSR also. We loved it there - I consider it "Deluxe Lite" I recommended it to a friend who also loved and to my Brother who took his wife there for the WDW portion of their Honeymoon. DB & DSIL also loved it & have recommended it to their friends.

I love the service I had there, the clean & bright ambiance, the Pepper Market, the designated transportation, the greater amount of amenities due to it's being a convention resort..... I just can't say enough about how much Bang you get for your Buck at CSR.....

Check out pics, links and info on my CSR website below. We love it!

I am in the same boat, we have been debating where to stay also. We are going on our honeymoon in Sept.. I have stayed at CBR twice and liked it alot, but want something new and different. The CSR sounds more 'honeymooney" to me. They also have a spa where you both can get massages, which sound wonderful for a honeymoon. Treat her to a day of pampering! From the research I have done and with the help of the DIS forum, I think the CSR is more like a deluxe lite! The casitas or cabanas sound and look very romantic! Good Luck and congratulations!

CSR gets our vote over CBR, hands down. Really much nicer, better layout, and better restaurant options.

Everybody's opinion is different. We've stayed at both CSR & CBR. For me and my family, out of those two, we really preferred CBR. Actually we'll probably never stay at CSR again. For us, it just seemed too impersonal - more what you would expect for the Conference Center that it is.
But since you haven't experienced CSR, you should definitely try it out so you'll know for any future trips. Actually, since this is a Honeymoon trip, I'd probably pick one of the Port Orleans resorts. Southern Charm abounds!

I wen to CSR for the first time on my honeymoon. I couldn't have had a better stay! :)

Agree, Iansmom--for honeymoon trip moderate, POFQ would be the way to go! The most romantic of the moderate resorts, and small enough to be both charming and intimate.

I have not stayed at the other resort, but I can say, the Coronado was VERY disappointing to us. I found it very dirty (in the rooms) and WAAAAYYY too spread out. I did like the peppers place for breakfast but that was about it. The "dig" area is very exagerated in their literature I think. Anyway, my husbands company sent us there last time and is no longer going there (I think from so many complaints) and we are staying at the Beach club this time.

Stayed at CSR for last two visits and absolutely LOVED IT!!!!! It is gorgeous and beautiful....the pool rocks!!! My sister and I rented the little water sprite boats and zipped around on the lake area, so much fun and also rented bikes and rode around on them at night....such a beautiful resort, for a honeymoon this resort is the best out of the moderates. You are right in the middle of WDW but when you are at the resort you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and it is so peaceful, gorgeous, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! I would also lay in the hammocks in the evenings and just look out over the lake, with the lights reflecting off the water, you cannot get more romance than that.

We stayed at CBR in September and loved it. We're giving CSR a try in a few days!! :)

We were debating CSR vs. CBR - decided on CSR. Which area of CSR would you recommend staying at?

cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge

cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building.

cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above.

Cabana rooms are mostly waterview rooms or non parking lot views.

ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

The casitas are close to the gym, spa and have great fountains and courtyards. casita 5 is close to the Dig Site with a good walk to the main building. The lower the casita number the closer towards the main building.

I have never been to CBR but CSR was wonderful. DH and I stayed there in January 2001 and it was so romantic. We were in Casita 4 overlooking the lake. I would wake up and just wish I could live there. We liked the Pepper Market and we rented surrey bikes one afternoon. We also had the best CM's of any resort stay there.

It is a convention resort but that did not bother me and it just meant that the busses were never very crowded which was a big plus for us. :)
