I just booked reservation for Carribbean Beach resort. Looked closely at Coronado Springs which I know is much newer. Any recommendations. Did see where the Carribbean Beach rooms had more square feet and most rooms have been refurbished.

CSR and CBR are very similiar. Really only the themeing separates the two. The rooms at CBR are 340 sq ft ve CSR at 315. Thats about a 5 foot square area difference. You can't go wrong with either.

If you like a Mexican theme, great pool, awesome transportation and throw in a good food court...CSR may be for you. Maybe you can split your stay.

Check out my CSR info page below

Good luck and have a great trip.

THe only reason I choose CBR over CS is beacause you have to
pay an 10% tip/fee on the food bought in the food court, unless
you get it to go... now why would I want to have to take my
food back to my room.. to be me it wasnt worth it.

HelloKitty, please explain that one to me. Are you telling me we are gonna pay Disney food rates, taxes, and 10% MORE for eating there??????????

Is the food court a "dining area" with a type of service?

They have a nice food court but you walk up place your order and they bring you your meal and drinks. I found the whole thing weird and not worth 10% I am capable of getting my own drinks and carrying a tray of food. never understood the premise but some folks seem to like it. I would never stay there because of that food court situation.

Caribbean Beach Resort is the oldest of the moderates, that's why the rooms there are so much bigger. 5 square feet might not sound like much, but when I was there last month we added a roll away bed, and that extra room was wonderful because we were able to put the roll away between the wall that the door is on and the first bed. It didnt take up any real usable room and we could've left the bed open all day if we had wanted to.

EVERY room at CBR has been completely refurbished in the last year. They added a privacy curtain between the sink/dressing area and the rest of the room. Since I was traveling with my brother and his family, this was a wonderful addition and quite useful. In fact, it would've been great for my trip last year when I was traveling with my husband and 2 sons, I wouldn't have had to tell my sons to "look the other way" while I quickly dressed! LOL

All of the moderates offer basically the same amenitites, I think the main thing is the different themes. CBR and CSR are large resorts but if you request a room close to the food court/main pool area, then you'll be fine. Actually, from what I've read, the food court and the main pool at CSR arent near each other so there's no "good location" to be near both of them. At CBR the food court and main pool are next to each other and there are many great locations so you can be near both.

I have created a CBR web page with pictures and information. Click on the CBR icon below. I also have pictures from my trip to CBR last year, if you want to see those, click on my "vacations" link and follow that to the CBR pages.

Happy planning! :)

and we enjoyed the food court at CSR much more than the one at DxL, despite the 10% surcharge. The selection and quality of the food was better and there is real silverware and coffee cups (vs plastic and styrofoam). The server will seat you and take care of bringing you drinks. We also enjoyed the overall atmosphere better. We thoroughly enjoyed CSR and would go back again. We haven't been to CBR so cannot comment on that. We had it reserved this trip but got a great deal on AKL so we are going there. We plan to go to CBR next time, though.

We really liked the food at the Pepper Marker at the CS. My favorite part of the CS was the bus. The bus was not crowded even though the resort was full. We always got a seat. I think all the moderates are very nice hotels but CS is our favorite.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm really excited at staying at the CBR now.
