Carousel Inn

I am looking at booking a hotel for our trip the first week of December. What is everyone's take on the Carousel Inn?

We stayed there for our last trip, it was clean and close to the park. There were some damaged tiles in the bathroom and over all the bathroom could have used some repair but otherwise it was good. The breakfast is typical, if they still have it. I'm thinking they may have discontinued it. We would consider staying there again if it fit our family size and budget. We have 4 kids now so the most economical place for us is the desert inn and suites.

We stayed in October of 2013 so my experience might not be on par with the hotel's current operations. My family enjoyed our stay there, the rooms were very clean, the bed was soft and comfortable enough for us, the location was great. We had no issues with our stay except with front desk staff not communicating to each other (having one person tell us yes, and a different one tell us no - which was resolved after 20 minutes of explaining). There were tickets to breakfast at the Pizza Press next door - we only tried it one day and it was just okay (only got breakfast with travel package, not with a regular booking directly with the hotel). However, the Pizza Press was a great little place to order small personalized pizzas and get a decent variety of bottled beers to take back to the hotel room. We would stay there again.

We haven't stayed there in years, however I couldn't talk DH into staying there again. The standard rooms are TINY. We generally live out of our suitcases when we travel, but there was no place to put them out at all so we had to unpack and then take the suitcases back to our car to store them. The room was simply too small for the four of us. The upgraded rooms are probably bigger so that might be better.
