I haven't been able to find the printable form to download to take advantage of the reduced membership fee. Vacation Magic says the form will be available beginning Dec. 1st at the Members News site. I've looked, twice. Maybe someone out here can help me, thanks.

I don't see anything like that on the Member Site either.

I must have missed the article. Can you fill me in on what the Carolwood Society is?

Pam,

I first heard about the society when we took the Magic Behind the Steam Train tour in November. This association cares for Disney RR Memorabilia, including, that train that Walt had made for his backyard. There is a picture and article in "Vacation Magic" Winter 2003 edition page 3. The deal is that a subscription to the society usually costs $30 for the year, and members can subscribe for $5 if they enroll before Feb. 28, 2004. I thought a membership would be a surprise for DH who would be interested in reading the quarterly newsletter. Someday we could visit the Carolwood Society home. We always wondered what happened to the train that ran in Ft. Wilderness, and we learned that its engine was restored or is being restored by this society.

Thanks for the info! (It sort of rings a bell about the article now.) That sounds like a terrific present for your husband. I'll keep an eye on the site to see if they post the link.

This is something I want to get for my dh for Christmas, too. Maybe I'll email and see what's going on with it ...

Googled Carolwood society and found site--I believe it is carolwood.com anyway they do not mention the special deal for DVC members, but I did email them and ask...hope this helps--my husband would love this!

MS sent an e-mail that the information will be available on the web site on Friday.

I rec'd a reply from Michael Broggie this a.m. He said if we print out the form and indicate we are DVC members, we need only include the $5 fee. :)

I'm putting my dh's form in the mail today! :teeth:

The membership form is now available on the DVC site. ::yes::
