Carnival Cruises

I apologise for not putting this on the Cruise forum but I am not sure if that is just for Disney cruises. We are looking at a cruise and stay with Carnival cruises. Can anyone tell me if the two formal nights are very formal dress nights please, a friend is going and she said her Husband has had to buy a tuxedo. We went on the Magic when it first came out and that dress code was smart/casual in the evenings.

A friend of mine went on a carnival cruise around the caribbean and she said it was very formal! The ladies were wearing cocktail dresses and the men tuxedos. Not sure if maybe this depends on where you are crusing though? As im sure ive heard people say it wasnt that formal.

Disney/Ocean Villiage etc are mroe relaxed so their dress code is different! Try posting on the cruise forum im sure someone would ahve been on there!

Don't really know about Carnival, but with Royal Caribbean, formal nights are formal: tux and cocktail dresses.
I suggest you go to Carnival board on boards.cruisecritic.com and ask there. Not only will they be able to help you out with that question, but there's a wealth of information that will make your cruise experience even better!

Our very first cruise over 10 years ago was with Carnival. Formal nights were just that - formal....women in long dresses or cocktail dresses and men in a DJ or tux. This wan't a problem for us as we've always gone to loads of formal occasions so had the correct clothes, but for some it was tricky BUT they did hire them out on board.

Carnival is 3* cruising and the ships are geared up for FUN - I'd say give it a go.
