Carnation Cafe ?

so, I want to try the potato soup, but am wondering if I can get it to go? It will be me and DS17, and we never sit in a restaurant to eat... he wants to go, go , go, and eats tons from QS and snack places. Will they let me order some to go?

Unfortunately none of the table service restaurants do to-go orders. You can always sit, order, and ask if you can take the food in a to-go container, but by the time you've waited to be seated and waited for them to make it, you may as well just finish the bowl of soup in my opinion lol. If he absolutely won't want to eat with you, you can always enjoy some yourself while he catches another ride or two.

Not really. Having worked in restaurants, take-out orders can be a hassle. First of all, they slow down the kitchen. Second of all they keep guests from sitting at a table. Sitting down means more likely to order an appetizer, dessert, and/or extra drinks.

That makes sense. I've never really worked food service, but I could see that.

Well anyway I agree with you sonnyjane. Sit, have and let your son do what he wants. I wonder if evening would be a nice time to try it, being the coolest part of the day and all.

The potato soup is great!!! Every time we have been to Carnation Cafe it has been really fast too. I'd either send him on his way to do something else while you have it, or I would tell him he needs to remember the trip is for both of you, and he needs to be patient and let you do something you want to do too. It will be good practice for if he has a wife someday.
