You know, when it rains it pours???

My car is going ka-poot - I'm looking at some cars at CarMax - but they're "no haggle" What does that mean? They wont work with youat all??

I dont know - CarMax - what have you all heard? Good or bad?

CathrynRose, my brother is the asst. manager at the Carmax in Oak Lawn. I've asked him the same questions, - about the "no haggle" policy and he told me that was true, but you will get an excellent car. But what they can do is cut some rates on financing

nope they do not haggle at all.

We've bought two used cars from them and will probably buy a third by the end of summer.

Car Max - would not go anywhere else! :thumbsup2

Their prices are no haggle and they are below Kelly Blue Book.

I've bought two cars at CarMax, and highly recommend them. I *like* the fact that they're no haggle, because when I leave I don't have that sinking feeling like I've been scammed.

We bought our van new from the Carmax in Kenosha and will absolutely look there again when it is time for a new one. What we loved was the fact that the trade-in and purchasing depts were completely separate so there were no games between the two. We figured out that between the trade-in and the great price, we saved $6000 on our van.

The other thing that was great is the fact that they tend to have "left-overs" from the previous model year. For instance, we bought our van in March of '99 but it us a '98 model year. This means not only did we get a really good price, but also, when we go to trade it in, it will have far fewer miles on it than expected and thus have a better trade-in value.

We got our 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser at our local CarMax! Saw the car online, went to test drive it...drove away with it! No haggle...we felt that we got a great deal! When the lease is up on our van, we plan to go back to CarMax for our second vehicle.

I love the no haggle policy! What a nice break from pushy salespeople.

We've bought two cars from Carmax and they've both been good cars. I would buy another from them in a heartbeat.

Planogirl -
We have also purchased two cars from Car Max in Plano! Funny! :rotfl:

We have nothing but good things to say about them. If you finance through them they show you the offers from multiple lenders and you can choose. We financed our cars through one of their lenders initially, but we later refinanced through another company for a lower interest rate.

You also have the option of buying an extended warranty through them and other little options. We really like them.

Right now we have one lease car (my Altima) through Nissan and we bought a Civic for DH through a Honda dealer, but we would absolutely go to Car Max again in the future.
