Will it be a hassle without a car @ SSR? We are used to the BWV's and not familiar with the "condo" feel of SSR. Is it walkable to say DTD and PI? :moped:

SSR will have 536 units when completed. BWV has 532 unit plus the additional 372 Inn rooms. You'll probably notice that SSR feels quiet in comparison.

There is a walkway to DTD and a ferry boat as well. If you don't have a car and want to resort hop for any dining, SSR is great because there are two transport hubs at DTD where you can catch a bus to any resort, and the busses back to DTD run later than theme park busses.

You can request a unit close to DTD access.

You have not stayed there yet, it may not feel like a (condo) but yes it is very easy to stay ther without a car as mentioned above.

Even though it seem big it really is not that bad of a walk from any point on sight.

We stayed in the middle building of the paddocks ( even walk to the CP way or to the bridge) to get to the carriage house .DsF walked to the pool everyday while we went to the parks in the morning (not a real park person )

We really enjoyed it and used our van to the waterparks mid-day and a few must get to on time ( ADR's ) but other then that we used Bus service.

DH and I just purchased our DVC membership in May when we were at DLR. :cool1: He has never been to WDW, and I have only been once and it was in the early 90's, so it has changed A LOT :) We both love Disney and we are beginning to plan our first trip home to SSR for next year. Even though we have only been to DL, I know WDW is much larger and will take more planning for sure. So I was wondering about the transportation there also. We don't plan on going anywhere but WDW while we are there, so we are not renting a car. That money can be better spent I am sure :thumbsup2 Is it easy to get to all the parks from SSR? I understand that I will have to wait for buses and/or water taxi's to get where I want to go, I am ready for that. I am just trying to figure out how it all works. I know SSR is only with in walking distance to DD and PI, so I am trying to think about a game plan.

I am so glad I found this board, I have learned a lot in only a few hours!

We drive to FL from MI. Once we park our car near our door (or in the lot by our bldg, whatever) I will be darned if I get back in that thing until the day we leave!

It's not a hassle at all.

We never rent a car at WDW. We have stayed at CSR, BCV, BWV and of course our home resort of SSR. Never been a problem and as posted by another....we consider DTD our hub when we stay at SSR. It is very nice to walk over and catch a bus to any resort!
