Caricature Artist

My husband wants to have a Caricature Artist. We are having an Escape meal. I recall reading on the board the Caricature Artist is for 3 hours. How many pictures can the Caricature Artist do within 3 hours? Do I reserve the Artist through DFTW or do I have to arrange that myself?

Since the Escape meal is only for 2 hours, will DFTW allow the Caricature Artist at Sea Breeze Point? I would like to have her do a picture of us during the ceremony and she can use the last 2 hours during the Escape meal.

We had 31 guest and our artist got 30 people done in the 3hrs. I am not sure if he could have done the last guest in the allowed time. My dh's brother felt he is too cool for one..... It's all kindof a blur so I don't know if there was left over time or not but 30 in 3hrs was GREAT.

That sounds fabulous! I only have 25-30 guests, so that would work. Did you reserve the caricature artist through Disney or had to do that on your own? Can you recommend who you used? Thanks.

"I checked and the price for the caricature artist is $585 for 3 hours, it is $195 to extend for one more hour. The artist can draw 24 portraits in 3 hours."


That is what my wedding consultant sent me when I asked her these same questions. So i guess they guarantee 24 but if they can get thirty done thats great becaseu thats how many guest I am having.

On Misty's website she recommends www.cartoonyou.net . On his website he says he can do 16 black and white in 1 hour or 10 color charicatures. His rates are $125/hr or $300/3hours. Hope that helps!

Does Disney charge you a fee if you do not use one of their people? Because it is a big price difference but I read they charge a fee for outside music so I wonder if they do for this to.

We had Caricature Artist and it was the hit of the whole wedding! I had 72 guests so we were required to have 3 artists on for 3 hours each.
*We definately needed them the whole time!

The rules are the same for any outside vendor - there is no fee (the musician fee is for DJs and bands so Disney can set up a stage, lighting, etc.) but you can only have them at locations that allow outside vendors.

This is a pretty good price, I'm toying with booking him as a surprise!!
He has a minimum of 2 hours you must book, so I wonder if he could come to our reception meal at (hopefully) Citrico's Chef's Domaine and do them throughout the meal, whilst we're waiting for courses etc?
When the food arrives though, what would we do, could he continue drawing people while they eat their meal, or would they have to sit and pose for him the whole time?
Bit of a weird one, do you think it's not appropriate to do it this way? It's the only time we could really squeeze it in though I think....

As the dessert party is only for one hour and it is really dark I don't think it would work. Not sure how many people you are planning on having but during the party the first 30 minutes people will be having dessert and coffee and then during the next 20 minutes watching IlluiumiNations and then the last 10 to 20 minutes most will be saying goodby. Most people left right after the fireworks to take the bus back to their resort.

You guys have me wanting to get a caricature artist for my reception...

2 artists for 2 hours $550 for up to 80 people

But that is so much out of my budget, considering I am already $500 over.
