I think Ive narrowed my hotel choices down to these two for our next trip. What opinions can you give from those that have stayed here? We're wanting close proximity to Disney, nice big pool for the kids, nearby food choices, those pesky hidden fee, etc...
Thanks ahead of time. :thumbsup2

We liked Caribe. It was about five years ago. 1 br villa was really nice. We didnt ue the pool etc much so cant comment on that.

how tall are your kids? There are 2 slides at Bonnet Creek but they are only for 48 inches and up. Caribe Royale has one for any height- 42 inches and up can go alone, under 42 inches can go with parent. For some this is a deal breaker- it's one reason I'm considering moving to Caribe also.

Our daughter is exactly 48 ins so that wouldnt be an issue by the time we get there. :)

We've not stayed at either, but are looking at Caribe Royale for next August. I checked the Hilton at Bonnet Creek, and it is almost TWICE the cost, plus $22 resort fee (listed on their website). Place looks nice, but that's a lot of money.

Just stayed at the Caribe for the first time this past August. It was our first off site stay so i was very apprehensive. But happy to report we had a great time!!
It was my husbands birthday so we got one night free with their birthday deal. Couldn't believe the amount of goodies sent to the room. Even a free cabana at the pool for the day.
The kids (ages 5, 9, 12) loved the pool area. It had waterfalls, a slide and a great children's pool. There was the pet parrot kept by the pool which actually talked to the guests.
The room was fine for 5 guests. We only stayed 2 nights. I think if we stay longer we may try the 2 bedroom villa. The couch pullout sofa was getting rather uncomfortable. The one bedroom standard room had a fridge, microwave and coffee pot.
They had a coffee shop on premise but it closed early. I heard the main restaurants were really good but we chose to eat at the Disney Hotels and nearby chain restaurants. We found plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. My little ones shoe broke and we found a target about 10 minutes away. One night we ate at a Bahama Breeze about 5 minutes away. Disney was also about a 5 minute drive. One road right into the main gate.
I was very impressed by the atmosphere. Everything was very clean, well kept grounds and the staff was extremely nice!
Like I previously said, we have only stayed at Disney Hotels since I was a little kid, but i really enjoyed the Caribe. With a family of 5, it's getting a little pricey to stay on property. So this may be our choice from now on.

One more thing. There were no hidden fees or resort fees. Price online quoted was what we paid. But Internet was not included.

I stayed at HBC three years in a row. Now they have gotten too expensive. Room rates went up. There is a new $22 resort fee and a $14 parking fee. Unless you are of Hilton gold status you will pay for wifi. All those fees add up! I didn't stay there this summer because of the fees and high price.
