Going solo to Caribbean Beach on my next trip. Where is a good building to stay? I was thinking Martineque, but am wondering if Aruba would be better. How far is Aruba from the main pool & food court? Can you see the fireworks from EPCOT or MGM from CB? How is the food in the foodcourt or the new restaurant? How secure is it to walk around this property at night? How long does it take to get from the resort to the parks? I noticed each village has it's own pool. Do they each have a hot tub too? Am I going to like this resort? Are the rooms similar to those at POFQ? How crowded is it in November (before Thanksgiving) here?

I can't answer all of your questions but I will try to help.:D

We stayed in Martinique 25 last year and it was a very short walk to OPR. I not sure about Aruba but I do not think the walk would be too bad b/c of the connecting island (Parrot Cay.)

As for safety, I felt very safe at CBR. My husband would stay in the room and I would walk around the resort at night with my 2 kids. We feed ducks, sat in the hammock, and just explored.

Another night my husband decided to do laundry b/c I was so tired. The kids and I fell asleep before he even left the room. The next day he told me he started the laundry and decided to go read a book by the quiet pool so not to disturb us. He ended up falling asleep in one of the lounge chairs by the pool. He didn't wake up until 3 A.M.!! Everything was still there: his book, money and the laundry.

The buses can get crowded at times but it never takes very long to get to the parks. The only time it took awhile to get anywhere was to Downtown Disney. And the Animal Kingdom bus does stop at TL. Each village has it's own bus stop that is covered, has seats, and ceiling fans.

Each village does have it's own pool but not a hot tub. The food court was great. It has a large sampling of different foods. We were there before they updated the food court so I don't know about the new restaurant.

I think you will really love CBR. It is a beautiful resort.

CBR is a great resort. I have pictures of the resort and food court area on my website. To see the fireworks you get a great view from the beachs by the food court. That would be Trinidad North and Martinique.

We have stayed at POR and POFQ and the WL. This May we took a mini trip and stayed at CB> I really liked the theming of this resort.
We stayed in Aruba building #53. I did not like this location. It was somewhat of a walk to the main pool and food court (at least 10 minutes) It wasn't as close to a bus stop as we have been at other resorts. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind staying in Aruba again just in a different building. I think building #51 would be very good. You would be close to the bridge that gets to the main pool, etc... and probably (not sure) a little closer to Jamaica's bus stop.
There is one hot tub by the main pool. There are quiet pools in each villiage. My kids enjoyed the quiet pool as much as the main pool (ages 4 & 7) My kids also enjoyed themselves ( and entertaining themselves) at Jamaica's beach/playground while I rested in a hammock.
We thought the bus transportation was excellent. They were never too crowded ( maybe once or twice a "little" crowded) and we never waited more than 5 minutes for a bus, except once on the way back from MK.
I thought the food court was very good. They had the usual type fast food items (burgers, chicken sandwiches, etc...) The rooms were very similar to POR and POFQ except they were a little bigger and of coarse different theming. They also had a curtain to seperate the sleeping area and vanity which was great .
I think you will like this resort if you like the "beach/island" atmosphere!!

We were in Aruba #52, and loved the location. Yeah, it was a hike to the bus stop. But the walk across Parrot Cay to get to the food court was very... islandy. Kind of reminded me that I was on vacation, and didn't need to hurry.

I've been to ASMo, ASMu, CR, WL, AKL and DI, and by far this was my favorite place. I might choose one of the others for different reasons, but this was the resort that I felt like I was really on a vacation.

The food court was standard fare. Pizza, pasta, chicken strips (although I liked that they had more child-friendly chicken nuggets), decent salads (I don't recommend the cesaer salad at bedtime, however...) some of the other food looked pretty good. But most importantly, they had Mickey waffles!!!

Did they just update the food court, or everything? What's it like now?

Thanks :)
