Finally booked our accommodation for August trip for 7 nights at Caribbean Beach:Pinkbounc Were waiting for the discount codes to be released but, as there is only the Fairytale package available and we had already bought our hopper passes, we decided to book the room through Travel City Direct. They did a good deal (about £20 night cheaper than booking direct) although not quite as good as the discount codes.

This is our third time at CRB and maybe our last with our children as our eldest is 16 now and won't be able to share our room next time.

You'll love the CBR - it's soooo tropical, a wonderful resort!

We have stayed at the CBR on our first stay at WDW. No wonder you keep going back ;)

Excuse me if this is a personal question, but why can't your 16 year old share your room at the CBR? I thought all Disney rooms slept 4 adults as long as you pay the surcharges. I think it would be a bit cramped though.

......and I don't think Disney charge for 'extra adults' in the room until the children are over 18.

Hi Winniepoohuk,
When are you going in August as we'll be at the Caribbean Beach August 14 -25th?
This will be our 5th time there, its our favorite resort.

Libby/Hilary - Maybe we've got it wrong about the 'sharing a room' rules but I thought I had read somewhere that once a child reached 17 and became 'adult' you couldn't have 3 adults and 1 child in 1 room (which covers our family)? If we are able to share a room as 3 adults and 1 child that would be great and we can book a Disney hotel again next year! Would appreciate clarification on this if you know as we don't want to stay offsite again?

Janice - we're there 17-24 August for 7 nights (this is our sixth trip to Disney, third at CRB). We nearly chose the Coronado Springs but our boys wanted to go back to CRB. Our second week is a Carnival West Caribbean cruise which we've never tried before so really looking forward to that as well.

Hi Winniepoohuk,
Great to see you're there the same time as us.We have two boys aged 15 and 13. Pehaps we could meet up and have a drink while we're there.

Not sure what age the extra adult surchages kick in, but I do know it's 4 people + a child in a crib maximum allowed in a room at CBR, so you'll certainly be able to take your whole family back next year and stay on site :)

Janice - would love to meet up for a 'cocktail near the pool'. Our boys are 13 and 16 so they will also enjoy meeting up. If you can leave a message at the Customs House Reception for 'Mr & Mrs Lee' (we check-in late on 17th August) and leave your room number, we will ring you on the 18th? (on that day we're planning to go to Animal Kingdom as we always wake up early, and will ring you hopefully in the afternoon when we go back to the hotel for a swim).

Penny - thanks for the note re room occupancy, we will now aim to stay onsite next year.

Karen,
I've noted that down in my diary, and will leave all the details at the Custom House.
Looking forward to meeting you.
