We are avid Disney goers! We have stayed at all the all stars, and Coranodo Springs. We would like to try somewhere different.
We are looking at a few choices if we go moderate it could be Sarasota Springs, or Caribbean Beach
but for 1500.00 ( like thats just pennies LOL) more we could stay at Wilderness Lodge or Animal kingdom. Our first choice is Wilderness lodge out of those 2 ( not huge animal people) but I am just wondering is it worth the extra 1500.00 or is there another suggestion for a moderate
We have 2 boys ages 9-14.
I just dont know if worth the extra but it would be so nice to be close to MK where we spend the bulk of our days.
Any input would be appreciated.
looking at june 4-10

I considered both resorts for our upcoming trip as well. I decided to go with Wilderness Lodge for several reasons. I am going with my 2 girls so I like that the resort is all in one building. I also like the closeness to the Magic Kingdom. I wanted a queen size bed and decided to get the bunk-bed room for my girls to be able to have their own beds.

Good luck making your decision. You really can't go wrong either way.

we liked both - but i would go for wilderness lodge - a little more activities - electrical water parade - boat to mk - though cb has more pools - i find wl to be more intimate - and relaxing -

I have stayed at all three of those resorts and like them all for different reasons. CB was nice and beautifully themed. But if you are trying to decide between WL and AKL you need to know that they are two very different resorts. The biggest difference is how long a walk it is to the lobby and/or buses. WL is great and it is all in one building....AKL has long walks to get anywhere, but it is great if you get a savannah view and can sit on your balcony and watch all of the animals. If your main goal is to get to the parks each day without having a long walk to the buses I would pick WL.

To be honest, it is worth the extra cash to upgrade if you can...at least once!

Good luck with your decision!!

We stay at the CBR each time we go. I would love to stay at a deluxe but can't justify the cost when we aren't in the room or at the resort all that much. (DH got an awesome bonus this year so we certainly could afford it but we are sticking to CBR.)

We've stayed at both and while CBR is a great resort (and we had a fabulous stay), I would go with the WL. Both resorts have beautiful surroundings, great pools, and good transportation, but we especially love the WL and its close proximity to MK. Plus it's nice to be able to take the boat to the CR and hop on the monorail to shop, dine, and visit the monorail resorts. Either resort will offer a magical stay, but if the extra cost is doable, I think the WL is a great choice :goodvibes.

It's easy for everyone to say stay at WL because it's not their $1500. I personally have better things to spend $1500 on, one of which would be Ohanna! Have you considered doing a split stay and doing both WL and a moderate? That way you won't have to shell out so much for staying at the Lodge the whole time. I also really like staying at Port Orleans-either side is nice and they have 2 different pools that you can use. My kids loved the bunk beds at WL so if you do stay there see if you can get one of those rooms. I have been told that they do alot of free upgrades at this resort when you are checking in, but since you are going at a busy time of the year it might be best to just book which ever room you want. We got a free upgrade to the bunk room when we checked in and it was really nice. Another thing, since you are going during the summer, if you ride the boat to the MK the bugs are terrible at night on the dock area.

Honestly, I think only you can decide if the $1500 is worth it. For us, it depends on timing! If timing is right I would spend the extra $$. We have stayed at WL and LOVED it. It's beautiful, the location is excellent. It's our fav but we have only stayed once because of the increased price. Our last trip was at CBR. Kids loved it. I liked it fine. I prefer POR and POFQ but CBR was good. The pool was great, kids loved it.

It depends on how much extra money you have. We stayed at the WL many years ago. It was beautiful but I absolutely can't justify the extra cost at this point in our lives. $1500 would pay for our beach house we rent for a week every summer. All of the moderate resorts are really nice and our kids actually prefer them to the deluxe. If money isn't an object..go for it. If you have a tighter budget, save the money toward your next trip. I would rather go more often and stay in a moderate resort.

Another plus I see for the Wilderness Lodge is that all their rooms, stores, restaurants and etc are located in one main building.

At Caribbean Beach who knows what section they will assign you and how far it will be from their stores, restaurants and etc.
