Has anyone stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort? I keep reading mixed reviews and I know that I can get honest opinions here.

We are traveling with our two children, who love to swim and I thought that this would be a fun resort to stay at. However, I've been reading that it is so huge it requires a bus ride to get something to eat....

Because most of our guests (our parents) want to stay where we're staying, I'm concerned about all of the walking/bus riding we may have to do within the resort.

Any suggestions, should I put in a request for a specific building?

Thanks so much! :umbrella:

This is one of the resorts we blocked for our wedding, and my husband stayed there before the wedding day (as did lots of our friends and guests). My husband really liked the resort and its laid back feel. It is a large resort, so they do have an internal bus that makes several stops throughout the resort so you don’t have to walk to the main building where the food court and restaurant are if you don’t want to. If you’re not too tired, my husband said the walk around the lake is very pleasant.

We also had this resort blocked for our wedding, and we had many guests stay there. I heard nothing but positive things. Most of our guests had kids, and said they really enjoyed it! I heard fromt he guests, they enjoyed the Martingue (sp?) building the best.

Hope this helps

We stayed there for our honeymoon and it was excellent. Its very romantic but also very kid oriented (the pools and playgrounds) I think it's a great place to stay!

P.S. Yes it is a big resort & you do ahve to walk if your not close to the Port royale. You can request a closer building.

I just got back on Monday. We stayed at the Wyndham Palace for two nights then moved over to the CBR for 5 nights. We were in Barbados #1542. I would say it took us around 5 minutes to get to the food court.

we stayed at martinque at the caribbean beach resort on vacation back in august 2002, it was like jamie said a more quiet building which was nice. the resort has a great decor & fun pool, but like you've already heard it is a walk to port royale, the food court & main pool. we did walk around the lake when ambitious & took the bus to the main building, which was kind of a pain in the morning rush so we ordered breakfast by room service the rest of the trip. i think cbr is an overall nice resort.

we also enjoy the other moderates too, like the casitas & large mayan pool at coronado springs, the magnolia bend mansion rooms at port orleans & the decor, carriage ride and serpernt pool at port orleans french quarer.

all the moderates are nice for a disneymoon.

I loved this resort when I stayed there! From our room, it was about a 3-5 minute walk to the main food area, but the walk was so beautiful we didn't care! If you have a lot of older people, it might be a good idea to request rooms closer to the main food area, but there is always the in-resort transportation to help them get around. I would definately recommend this resort for your wedding!

YOU ALL ARE SO AWESOME!

Whom did you put your requests in with for building locations, the front desk upon check-in or before with EM or resort? :sunny:

Thanks!

I let my SM know that I wanted the Martinique building when I vlocked my rooms, and also let my EM know. I also called the reservation number myself to make sure it was noted. It is not guaranteed but they do there best.

We stayed here a few years ago and loved it! Great theme, beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms-highly recommend! I agree-request the same section for all rooms-such as Martinique-very close to the main area.

We LOVED that resort!! I am sure we are going to use it for ours as well! I like it mostly because of the food court. It is AWESOME and people will be sure to find something they like that is quick and cheap! (They also have awesome cupcakes in the food court) It is a GREAT choice!

My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon and we loved it!! Very calm and peaceful. The only thing I didn't like was the weather. LOL It rained all day, every day (started around 10am, stopped around 9pm...with only 5-10 minutes breaks once in awhile...seriously). That was the only deterrant from being able to explore the resort more fully. But from what we did get to experience, we LOVED it!
