we are leaving on the 20th of Jan. We are staying at the Carribean beach resort. There is sooo many rooms and buildings. Which one do you consider the best to stay at? Has anyone upgraded their room to a better one for free when you check in???

We've stayed at Aruba and really loved the location. Away from much of the noise, but easily walkable to the main area. One of the Trinidad buildings (don't remember which one) is a longer walk to the restaurant and main pool.

I just read on here today that the 2 buildings closest to all the action (Martinique and Trinidad North) are considered "preferred buildings" and there is an extra charge of $15 per night.

You might want to read the FAQ's listed below for CBR. I also have a map on my website listed below.

Martinique and Trinidad North are considered preferred locations costing extra nightly. If you don't want those locations many like Jamaica or Aruba which is a short walk across the lake from the main pool and food court.

We stayed in Jamaica 45, room 4553, in December. The room faced the lagoon and was directly across from the end of the bridge to Old Port Royale. It was a very short and very pleasant walk to OPR, shorter I think than the walk from some of the more distant buildings in the preferred villages. The location was very quiet and pleasant, and there is a quiet pool just steps away. Bus stop was across the parking lot, also very handy. Personally, I couldn't see paying $15 more a night for the "preferred" villages when there are others that are so close. Fireworks are also visible from the outside walkways.

We too stayed in Jamaica 45. Great location...a very short beautiful walk over the bridge took you to the main area. I can't really add more then what Jaysmom has already said about the building.

We did have a leaky air conditioner but that was a fluke, don't hold it against Jamaica :)

Both times, we stayed at CBR, we have stayed in Jamaica. It is a longer walk to the main pool, food court and shop. But the bus stop location is a huge bonus. Jamaica is usually the first stop, so you are first on before the bus fills up,(which happened frequently when we went in Aug.) and first off returning from the park.

I posted this elsewhere.....but here's what I do. I NEVER book an upgraded room, I book standard. When I check into the hotel, I always ask for a building farthest from the food court/main building (which is the opposite of what everyone else asks for). I have always gotten my request. I smile and thank him/her and then ask if there are any upgraded rooms available in that building. Have always gotten that, too.........without paying more.

For me personally, I find it so humorous that folks can/will walk ALL day at the parks, but apparently are incapable of walking a few feet at their resort!

Not only do we get a slightly nicer room, but we have always been in a quieter area!

To each his own!
