Hi, I am just taking a poll to see what Resort you like better. My family and I are trying to decide between these two.

Thanks in Advance

I love Port Orleans Riverside. The landscaping is so lush. The two themes are great. The food court is great. The boat to downtown disney. Walking around the resort is wonderful. I had a great breakfast and pretty good dinner at Boatwrights. It's been said, and I agree, that the employees there are among the friendliest at WDW.

These are the only two moderate resorts that I've ever stayed at, and I really, really loved them both.

CBR is so beautiful and bright and tropical, while POR is beautiful and relaxing and reminds me of my favorite parts of the Magic Kingdom (Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square).

I honestly don't know which one I'd choose if I were going to choose a moderate resort. I'd probably let my DH decide! LOL

The only big difference to me is the fact that at CBR you can book (and pay extra for) a "preferred" location which would put you close to the main building (restaurant, shops, arcade) and the main pool, while at POR there are no "preferred" buildings so all you can do is make a request to be close to the main building area. When I stayed at POR in early May I was fortunate enough to get a room in Building #18 in the Alligator Bayou section, which was very convenient to everything.

The rooms at CBR are larger; 340 sq ft VS 314 sq ft.

P.S. I have pictures of both of these resorts on my web page. The link is below in my signature.

POR over CB. CB is way to big everything is too far spaced and POR everything is somewhat close together

CBR gets a bad name sometimes for being so big. It is spread out, but that is one of the reasons that we love it. It doesn't feel like you are on top of one another. I vote CBR.

My daughters and I have stayed at both resorts, and we much prefer CBR. Both resorts are beautiful but we prefer the tropical themeing better. The rooms at CBR seemed larger too. We liked both food courts the same but we liked CBR's bus service alot better. We're heading back to CBR on July 11th for a seven night stay. Good luck on your decision.

Next Trip - July 11 thru July 18 - CBR :yay:

We have stayed at both and they were really lovely. CBR: very spread out, longer bus ride/more stops, nice main pool and quiet pools with laundry right there, and refurbished room was very nice. POR: choice of 2 cool pools and 2 food courts (easy walk to FQ), good bus service, and great walking path. Between the two I'd go back to POR first because it had more choices and better bus service. Yes, we had a car and only used the bus for MK, but the CBR bus was really crowded in the morning and on EMH nights.
