This February we are staying at SSR because we love the proximity to DS and found their pools to be excellent for DD. However, DD (age 7, will be 8 in April), saw photos of CBR and LOVED the pirate room. We try to make it to Florida annually. I have read some reviews on Tripadvisor that these rooms are kind of worn and need to be refreshed. Also, they are farthest from the restaurant/main pool. Is that still the case with the construction that has occurred? We also really like the theming as we are escaping Vermont in the dead of winter--so we don't need a place like WL. I like the island with the paths, can't remember what it is called, but it looks really fun to explore. Finally, how likely is it to get connecting rooms at CBR if we were to travel with my parents? Any recent feedback on the resort would be welcome. Thank you!

They were refurbished about a year ago and are still looking great. Though they do still have double beds.

Yes. Though they did add an excellent Quick Service at the Trinidad Pool. So you do have access to food and a leisure pool right in your Village.

Caribbean Cay.

It is!

Hard to say. That is completely dependent on occupancy and how many other guests requested them also. Both of which only WDW knows. But if you make that your only request, you definitely up your odds.
