Caribbean Beach Resort - Help Please

For the Caribbean beach, are the waterview or pirate rooms that far away from the preferred rooms? We have a reservation for a preferred room, however we decided to come in the day before (so the drive is over) and they do not have a preferred room for the day before, only saying I would have to switch to the waterview or pirate rooms. My husband doesn't want to check into one hotel (Friday) only to check into Disney on Saturday however he also doesn't want to walk 10 min to the pool. What would you do (we have never stayed onsite at disney) and how far are the other rooms really from the pool, foodcourt, etc? TIA

The pirate rooms are a fairly good distance from the big activity pool and food court area, which are all near each other. There are several quiet pools spread out throughout the resort, which is very large, but you can't beat the peace and quiet! I'd say take the water view room, then move the next day.

We got lucky last summer---did not want to pay for preferred but requested water view (which, I believe you also pay extra for but not as much as preferred.) We were given Martinque with a nice view of the "beach." We were one bldg away from preferred so had we actually paid for preferred we would have been paying a premium to save about 5 steps You might be surprised & love your original location. Enjoy CBR! We LOVED it!!!

I have stayed at CBR many times. The pirate rooms are a long way from the themed pool and the food court (I won't stay in a pirate room because of this) The water view rooms are nice but not necessarily any closer to the main food court/themed pool area than a standard room. The preferred rooms are located in Martinique and North Trinidad - but there are also standard rooms located in Martinique and North Trinidad. I would get a standard room and request one near the preferred rooms explaining that I would be moving the next day to a preferred room.
