Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ's Part II

On allears.net on the fact sheet there's a tidbit about rooms that are far away and having the option to drive from their room to OPR. Just wondering if anyone who has stayed in one of the further away rooms has done this. Is there ample parking at OPR? We'll have our own car and it seems like a good idea if we end up in Trinidad South and it's raining out or we are beat after a long day at the parks.

Your pictures were great, thank you for sharing!:goodvibes

We ate at Shutters last year. It was good. The drinks were good. I think I had a Bahama Mama.;) The one thing I really remember was that the Coconut Shrimp on the appetizer menu were excellent!:thumbsup2

There is plenty of parking at OPR. Many people enjoy staying at Trinidad South. It is like a private resort being away from the rest of the buildings.

Thanks, safetymom! It's nice to know that driving is an option. If we want to swim or eat after a long day, you can just hop in your car and drive over. I guess I should ask if there are parking lots behind or next to all of the villages? Trinidad South does sound nice where it's like a separate resort. That must be nice and peaceful which is exactly what we're looking for!

Ok, Now I'm thinking about Trinidad South as an option. Does anyone have any pics just of the Trinidad South area? Allears.net only has one picture. I'm a visual learner so pics always help me make my choices :cool1: Thanks in advance!

Hope someone can answer this... Can anyone tell me about the new DSA's? It looks like there are a lot of them and I wondered if they were in high traffic areas or really near rooms. I have a severe allergy and didn't know if I should request a room away from a DSA.
I asked this question already in the DSA thread and haven't gotten an answer, thought someone who just got back might have taken notice of the locations.
TIA

Sorry, I guess I have a dumb question...what is DSA???

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it might help to know that each village is pretty much identical except for the paint scheme. Trinidad South does not have any other villages adjacent to it, but other than that it's identical to the others except for color.

Hi everyone! I have a question. My parents are going to be staying at CBR this coming August. My FI and I just booked a last minute trip and unfortunately can't afford to stay at CBR this trip. So we booked a stay at the POP Century. I have never stayed there before so I am a little worried. Anyway. My FI and I want to hang out with my parents at CBR sometimes during our stay. To my understanding, POP and CBR and pretty close to each other. Is it possible for us just to walk over to CBR from POP? Or should we drive? Or does a bus go back and forth? TIA everyone!

We're staying at CBR for the first time; was my travel agent accurate in stating that we can walk to MGM and Epcot? ("Everywhere is walking distance - if you have the time" - Steven Wright) Is this feasible? If so, should we be looking to request a particular village? Thanks for any feedback.

First, you will LOVE your time at CBR!! It's our favorite!! Second, no, you cannot walk to MGM or Epcot -- just take the buses, they are frequent and efficient. Every village has its own bus stop, so you're never far from one.

Have a great time!

Walking would be near impossible due to the lack of pedestrian paths and the distance is quite far. As for the bus, buses don't go from resort to resort so you'd take a bus to a park (probably mgm) then one to CBR. While the bus rides are short, assuming 10ish min waits makes this a journey. If you have a car its about 5 -7 mins.

Its really close by bus to these two resorts, really really close. Walking would take along time, as the previuos poster said. I'd honestly get a new TA, because thats a blatant lie. Sounds like a sleazy used car salesmen. BUT, maybe he made an honest mistake. The Beach Club is between the two and you could walk to both, or take the boat, maybe he was confused.

CBR is great though, and you're close to two parks, which isn't the case with many resorts. Enjoy your stay :).

I agree that you can't walk to the parks. WDW is not set up for walkers and would be quite dangerous walking along the roadways.

The bus transportation is great and probably quicker.

I was advised that I might want to post this here, so here goes:

Is it possible to get a king/perferred/waterview (lakeview) room at CBR? If so, what locations should I be requesting? I'd really love to get a view of SSE, but it's not do-or-die. (I will be travelling solo, so the king is a must!)

Ok, so I will definitely drive my car from POP to CBR then! Thanks everyone! Another question though. If I drive into CBR once everyday will the CMs say anything? Do I have to be staying there to get in? TIA!

They shouldn't say anything to you. You'll just need to show a form of identification when you arrive at the guard gate.

Lots of people just go to the other resorts to look around so it's something they see everyday.
