Thanks for starting the thread SafetyMom! We will be staying at the CB for the first time next week. We have a water view room and want to be as close to the food court and main pool as possible. What would you suggest for a room request? In advance, THANKS!!!

I have planned a surprise trip for my hubby's 40th birthday on August 16 at the CBR. We have never stayed here but it looks very nice. I'm a little worried about transportation though; we will not have a car. Our first night there I've made reservations for the Hoop-Dee-Doo dinner show at 7:15 and am wondering how long it will take to get there and how will will get back to the hotel - are the busses still running when it gets over? Should we take a bus to MK and then get the boat to Pioneer Hall? Are the busses for this resort generally packed - should we be prepared to wait and wait?

I would post this on the transportation board. Chip and Dale usually answers questions like this with all that you will need to know. The busses at CBR are pretty good from all the reports on these boards.

The bus schedule worries me...

We are the Commando types. We enjoy seeing a lot. For EMH or rope drop, when should we get to the bus stops?

I really want to stay at CBR sometime, but I don't want to have to wait too long for busses.

I would post a question about the buses in the transporation forum. From what I understand from Chip and Dale is an on demand system so you are never waiting long for a bus. The bigger the demand the more the buses come.

I don't take the bus so I am not familiar with it. Chip and Dale would be of more help to you.

We just returned from CBR a couple of weeks ago. We found it was best to be at bus stop at least 45 minutes prior to the time you want to be at the parks, especially for MK since it seems to be the farthest away. We usually aimed to be at the bus stop an hour early, but sometimes arrived only 45 minutes early.

On our first day, before we knew how long the travel time and wait time was, we thought 45 minutes was plenty to get from CBR to the GF. It definitely wasn't, because you have to get to MK first and then get on monorail to GF. But for just getting to the parks, the 45 minute time frame worked for us.

I haven't been to CBR in 10 years. Is there a large selection of choices for picking eaters (DD 7 and DD 4)? When we were there last they had Mickey waffles for breakfast that I know my girls would love. Do they still have them? TIA for your replies!

I don't remember seeing Mickey Waffles. I know that have pancakes but not in Mickey shapes. They do have a lot of things for the kids. I think Deb Wills has the menus from the food court on her site. They also have several meals you can get in a sand pail with shovel.

I stayed at CBR in March 2002 and they definitely had Mickey waffles for breakfast in the food court

giggles221, yes they used to have them. After the refurbishment they changed the menus. Hopefully someone who has been there recently will now. Every time I go to CBR I try to check out the questions that have been asked here. I now have something to check out the next time.

According to Deb Wills site yes they still have them. That was the one shop I didn't have breakfast from last week.

Your daughters will be able to enjoy the Mickey waffles.

On my last trip I was sad they didn't have the grilled cheese sandwich anymore. When I posted that someone of these boards told me which shop to ask for them. I was thrilled to find out I could still have my favorite sandwich.

wow I didn't realize until after I posted that there had been such a big renovation! When I was there last year there was construction, but I didn't realize they would be changing menu items. Sorry!

giggles221, not a problem. I like the new food court but I wish they had kept some of our favorites on the menu.

...and only one complaint. The TRANSPORTATION was HORRIBLE!

Now, I'm not a whiner. We always use WDW transportation. I never get a rental car and if we have one we always leave it parked because using the bus system is so much easier.

On our first day, we waited for a bus to the MK for 45 minutes. Honestly. Buses to every other destination came one or two times while we sat there. Simply ridiculous.

The topper though was on Sunday. We waited for a bus to Downtown Disney for an hour. Again, buses to everywhere else came 2-3 times during that hour. We tried calling the transportation line from the phone at the bus stop but it was busy. (I think everyone else at CBR was calling too.) Several of us finally stopped one of the other bus drivers (to MGM I think) to ask what was going on. He said "they're running" and "I don't know, but I'll call it in."

When the bus finally came (after an hour) it was full and we barely got on. We had to turn people away at the other three stops at CBR. The bus driver was rude about it too. Said it wasn't his fault. Of course, people were angry at the other stops because they'd been waiting for an hour too. He said he'd call another bus to come and get them. I hope he did.

Simply a ridiculous lack of service and response.
