Watched the top of IlumiNations through the trees from outside our corner room in Martinique 25...we saw a bit less than we have at POP from our room in the 50's/....still, always fun to see any fireworks!

can you walk to Epcot from the resort? How far away is it? Are all the rooms going to refurbised by next year? Thanks

I just realized we only have 18 days til we leave for our stay at CBR!!!!
:cool1:  :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :cool1:  :yay: :woohoo:
Sorry if that was a little obnoxious, but I am excited!
Today I called and added a request for Martinique. I won't be upset if we don't get that, but it is worth a try :) I like the idea of a "fresh" room ;)

The "back" entrance to EPCOT, also known as the International Gateway, is about a 1.2 mile walk from Aruba (the closest part of CBR to the Epcot). Just for comparison, a complete lap around the World Showcase Lagoon in Epcot is 1 mile.

It's not a dangerous walk, as there are sidewalks most of the way, but it is long and largely unshaded. You would walk out to Buena Vista Dr, cross at the crosswalk, and walk west along the sidewalk to the Hess station. Cut through the Hess station to the sidewalk that runs north along the back of the Boardwalk resort. After reaching the north side of the Boardwalk, take the path that cuts over to the waterfront and follow that path north across the bridge to the International Gateway.

Is there any place at CBR that sleeps 5? Right now we are planning to go there Sept 2009 (we did bounceback) but if money is tight and we have to wait another year I don't think we can stay there. Next year my youngest will still be under 3 so even though we are 5 they don't count us as 5.

No, all of the rooms are for 4 unless one is under 3.

We watched Illuminations from the Aruba hammocks along the beach. Someone had posted a flicker video showing Illuminations from CBR under Resort Photo's.

I know the Martinique beach is a great spot, but there are probably others as well!:thumbsup2

Great -- thank you so much!!! After drooling over duckyislost's photos on the CBR photo thread, I am thinking I am totally in love with CBR!

Thanks so much for the link -- how awesome to be able to see fireworks from the beach!

If you have the information in your reservation with your requests there is no need to fax. Most resorts don't bother with the faxes.

Is it better to fax your room request or to call? Tia

So, on each of the last three days, I've gotten my ME info/tags, ressie info, and package vouchers (planet hollywood, etc) with luggage tags!!! Woohoo!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: We are going in 5 weeks from today!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I was also wondering if I needed to call or fax. The first time I set my ressies the CM told me I should call about 48 hrs before checkin for any requests we had, calling was better than faxing and the rooms were being set up then so that was a good time to put requests in. I don't know if she ever put in my requests at that time or not. But, later when I changed from AAA to fall code, we didn't really talk about. But, when I called a third time to switch stuff, yes, again, we had to add free dining!, he asked me specifically what we were celebrating(my 50th, DD's 18th :cheer2: ), any building or room requests so I went ahead and told him which room we'd like to have, ground floor. Well, on the papers I got yesterday, he had put each request and noted bdays on those requests as well twice. Now, I know it doesn't mean we will get our requests, but it was nice to see, haven't ever seen our requests before like that so hopefully it will help! But, I still wonder if I should call the resort as the first CM suggested. What do you think?

Hmmm, good question. I've always just made requests when I first book our rooms and then ask again when we arrive at check-in. We didn't have any requests on our documents that we received in the mail yesterday, however, they do show online. We requested 1st floor Aruba or Jamaica as close to a designated smoking area. We've always had our requests granted before without calling or faxing beforehand. Wondering if I should this time or just wait until we arrive to check-in as we normally do.

By the way...I'm running to Home Depot this weekend to grab some LGMH to attach to my messenger bag. Hope to see you at CBR!! Happy B-day to both you and your daughter!!!

after looking at all the post here I am really excited about our upcoming trip and stay at CBR. only 40 more days and I am there. can't wait to see it for myself:cheer2:

I woke up this morning in such a panic, it made me cry :(

I had a nightmare last night that I got lost at CBR and could not find my room or my family. I could not understand the bus system. It was aweful :scared: I kept asking the CM's where to go and they were so pleasent and nice, like stepford wives, but no help at all to me.

Hopefully, this will not last for the rest of the week.

Yikes, only 6 more days and DD woke up with a stuffy nose today :(

It was just a bad dream. You'll be able to find your way around the resort in no time at all. Even if you were to get turned around, the walks are sooo pretty and you'll soon find your way to your destination.

The bus system is very easy to learn. Each bus has a sign on the side that says where it's going. Just hop on the bus and you'll be there before you know it!

Have a fantastic trip!

We just got back last night from 8 nights at CBR. Our family liked it alot and we are usually stay deluxe. this was our first stay at a moderate resort. The new pool is great and the resort is very pretty too. We paid for a preferred room and requested a Nemo room on our reservation. Our request was granted :goodvibes and we stayed in Martinque 25 since North Trinidad hadn't been refurbed just yet. I took tons of pics that I will post on the CBR pics in a day or two after I load them to the computer. Also I will post a bigger review on the resort board later. Thanks everyone for all your help and information on this thread. If anyone has any questions about the resort I would be happy to help.

I'm so glad you enjoyed CBR!! :goodvibes I have been thinking about you and wasn't sure exactly when you were going. I know you had gone back and forth on where to stay! Can't wait to hear more and see pics!

:cool1: I will be at CBR in 100 days from today!!! :cool1:
