Well its official... I booked our next trip to WDW (trip # 26) and we will be staying at CBR... it will be the first visit there.. I have so much to read.. so much to learn about the resort... I did book a preferred room... originally it was going to be my mom, me, my DS and his friend... now it will be me, DH, DS and friend.... I guess the thought of getting out of Central NY in January was appealing to my DH afterall..... so what can you all tell me that are most knows about this resort....I am a little concerned over the pool... I know the boys would love to swim late but a quiet pool will do fine... I am sooooooooooo excited....

Tomorrow is the big day! It's our first stay at CBR. Last year we did the Contemporary. I'm a bit nervous though. The last week EVERYONE in my family has gotton sick. And not a little sniffle. DD1 has had a fever and runny nose for a week, DD2 threw up (though I think that might have been due to the fact that she inhaled her food), DD3, who is 6 months old, has had a runny nose, fever for a few days, and is teething, DH has a sinus infection (on antibiotics now), and last night I had a weird mystery fever that hit me out of nowhere and now I am fine again. I am terrified we are going to be sick when we are there! Thankfully everyone seems on the mend, but just in case we are sick, what are our options there? Is there an onsite pharmacy my doc can call something in? Onsite doc? I hope I don't have to use it, but I'd like to be informed. Can't wait to be there! Less than 24 hours to go!

Might I suggest a dose of Echinacea....the health food store should have a liquid version for the kids, adults can take either liquid or pill. I am not your typical "supplement" person, but ever since a friend gave my kids some a couple years ago at the first signs of sniffles and those sniffles disappeared in them and blew up in me (meaning I know it wasn't a fluke and they really were coming down with something, but I didn't take it and I got sick, they didn't)....we take it at the first sign of trouble. Two winters now and NO colds, no flu, nothing that lasted more than ONE day. Looking back on the 10 years before that when we all were down and out at least once and usually twice in a winter season...if it ain't the Ech, then it's a miracle!

So sorry everyone is under the weather. Last trip I was sick with sinus infection; we had a rental car and drove to Walgreens, right outside Diseny property, to pick up meds. Another trip, few yrs ago, my son got sick and we did not have a rental car. To the best of my memory, Disney had a pharmacy send over what we wanted and I don't remember if we picked it up at Guest relations in MK or if it was sent to our resort.

Congrats on booking the trip to CBR, Wendy! You'll love the resort! Check out the first post on this same thread -- Safetymom has a lot of great info about the resort right there! Whatever questions you have, just ask on this thread -- there are a lot of people who will be glad to help you out!:cool1:

I just switched from ASSp to CBR for our trip in 2 weeks. This will be our first stay at a moderate. How late is Luggage services open, I will have to pick up my ECV and we won't arrive until around 3am or 4am?

Hi CBR fans. DH and I are making our first trip to CBR next month. I just booked a king room yesterday using the fall savings rate WOO HOO! Is it possible to get a king room in a preferred location? Do I call CRO and make that request or just wait until our date gets closer and then fax in a request?
It is possible to get a king room in a preferred location building. But it is impoosible to RESERVE a king bed room in a preferred location building. Go ahead and put in the request by calling the DRC, and then hope for the best.

:dance3: :dance3: YAY!!!!
I can't believe the pool is open! I was loosing hope----that's Disney magic for us. My trip is coming up soon---Thank you ALL for the great info...

I may have asked before, but what number do I call to request a certain building for a preferred room?

The pool pics made me smile. I wish that we were going in a warmer month...

You would call 407-W-DISNEY and have it added to your reservation

The pools are heated and it really doesn't get too cold to swim at WDW, until maybe January or February.

Does anyone know how late luggage services is open?

Suzanne

Yes, there are two slides now. The old one is about 10 - 20 ft. long, and the new slide in the new fort structure is supposed to be approx. 80 ft. long, my DDs can hardly wait then.

We just up graded to CBR from POP and what a deal for only 70 bucks more for the week of Thanksgiving (Nov. 22-28).

1) Will the resort be decorated for Christmas while we are there?

2) We requested Jamaica and Martinque? Are those good locations to request? Felt if we asked for two we would get one.:happytv:

When not paying for a preferred location, we request Bldg 22 in Martinique as is not preferred ~ we like it there b/c it is the first bus stop (for some parks) and about a 4 min walk to OPR.
We are one the rare guests who do pay for a water view and request a lake view in Martinique. So far, always been in Martinque 22 with a great view and location.
Hope this helps!
